OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

So who are the top 2 , it can’t be anyone playing in NSW cup , for a kid in his 1st year playing behind a headshit pack I think he is so far in front of anyone else at our club
Could be argued that the club itself doesn't have Galvin top of the list.

Galvin was on the roster last season.

Then the club signed Latu Fainu to play the same role.

Then the club added Luai to play that role too.

Both guys signed for 5 years.

No doubt Galvin has had a good first season. But injury put Fainu behind Galvin. Galvin took that opportunity & ran with it. Fainu hasn't been lucky enough to string enough games together to have that impact.

All good for Galvin.

But that doesn't disprove that the club, with Galvin in hand, signed 2 players to 5 year deals to play his spot.

Is Galvin the beneficiary of recency over ability right now?

How would you compare Galvin's debut season to Sam Walker?
Good question.
I’m not sure I seen enough of Sam’s debut year, but from what I did see, and the team he had around him, I reckon I’m happy with Gal. Didn’t he have some issues and got dropped a couple of times?

Everyone questioning me is missing the point lol

When as a fan did you ever feel like the tigers were a storm or roosters side when Benji was playing even in the best years?

We would never smash a team and finish them off

We would always let a lead slip

He was just not consistent

Again I’ll say he has the best highlights of any player bar none by a country mile but he’s not in the same league as cronk, Munster, etc bc with Benji and Robbie’s talent in the team we should’ve been in the finals ever year they were fit and we weren’t
Agree a lot.

Benji coulda got us to finals one year, playing the sharks late in a game. All he had to do was pass through the hands yet he chose to grubber it dead on the third.

He also failed to kick for touch way too many times for an elite half. Inexcusable really.

He was exciting at his best. Achieved a lot in his career but he was a flash in the pan compared to Smith, Cronk, Thurston, Slater, Teddy. etc etc etc.

No, someone who's bad game is a 7 is a superstar of the game. Regular first graders still have bad days at the office. Everyone does really
So you only watch Tigers games then. You put in back to back stinkers at a strong club and you’re becoming acquainted with the KOE cup coach.

Galvin shits all over Sam.

The Roosters results have been below average with a roster full of superstars with Walker at 7.

There’s a good reason no deal has been done.

He was talking about his debut season. Walker was successful and the Roosters played in the Semi.

If Sam Walker wore our colours we'd have him lined up to become the next Immortal.

Galvin has the same inconsistancy in his game right now, but without Walker's kicking game.

Yes I judged Brooks.
I had a lot of data to use.
He was completely overrated by this club as a halfback.
That’s fair.

But surely win/loss ratio is not a reliable indicator of a players ability when they play at this club. That doesn’t separate the Bula’s and Galvin’s from the Nadens and Seyfarth’s in any way.

At 18, to hold your gloves up all season in this side, and look like a future star, imo is exceptional.

Harry Grant had a similar season here.
