Api transition to DaSilva

Api will start at hooker next year and be refreshed by not having to carry a poor roster, ala Luke Brooks of 2024. One man cannot paper over that many cracks, as hard as they tried.

he will start the season there.. I’m hoping TDS can finish there…. I think he has a very bright future ahead …

in fairness to Api… he has been overused this year … played way too many minutes …and you can’t say that hasnt came home to roost the backend of the season

Benji really needs to manage his bench better next year … one of a few things the rookie needs to improve on … this is a failing that his teacher Sheens always had as well in my opinion

Sorry but Latu has done nothing to win the 14 jersey next year. He can’t cover multiple positions and especially not 9. It should be a no brainer to put Da Silva there when your starting 9 regresses over so much over 80 minutes. Unfortunately for Latu he will essentially have to wait to see what plays out with Galvin. Still contracted for 3 years
😂😂

Api has been average to poor for most of the last 3 months.
We have grinded him into the dirt and aged him to the shithouse.
I’d make TDS the primary hooker next year in terms of minutes and use Api as the strike with short bursts of 15-20 minutes x 2
Reverse the polarity.

Api is still no. 1 for a while yet.

Api is struggling with the burden that is leading the Wests Tigers poor roster. Want proof? Being the first down on a kick chase and absolutely smashing a bloke to show your teammates how it’s done. Earned himself ten.

We all agree Api has to do too much out there and is often completely knackered.

So WTF is he leading the kick chase in the first place? Luai will help him no end as he’s another ultra competitive bugger to drive standards on the field.

These kids have won in juniors without raising a sweat, now they need to learn to sacrifice.

Haywood, Hope and TDS to all nip at Api's heels in 2025, which is good.

Api has had, on the whole, a pretty awful season, punctuated by moments of brilliance. Multiple sin bins, multiple and major unforced errors, he has been the barometer for the entire season.

He's got two years left. Hopefully he can be used more strategically in 2025 and beyond, not trotted out, fatigued, injured and trying to carry the team like he has the last two years.

I completely agree with this ^^

Benji has completely misused Api and the bench, and he probably learnt it from Sheens
He’s just not been in positions to rest Api, we’re mostly chasing the game or at the very best clinging on.

There’s no trust yet in the back ups.

Benji has also mentioned this many times.

I think the sinbins and errors are a reflection of just how much work he has to do, because others are either too inexperienced and/or young (12 debutants) or not putting in *cough*Stef*cough*. I think Sezer was a bit the same.

Possibly.

But he's twice got binned (could've been more) for his lifting style where he goes in low and drives upwards.

That's all technique and an experience player of his calibre should've deleted that style nearly a decade ago.

He should have managed Api’s work load better … there is no justification for burning him out considering what they were ultimately playing for and what the results turned out to be …

In respect of no “trust in the backups” … did you look at the backline that has been fielded of late

How many coaches take their most influential players off when the game is nearly gone? And does the player himself want to leave the field at the same time?

These are situational issues.

Was only a matter of time before people turned on him on here.

lol … turning on him …his play was terrible last night … and I blame his overuse this season by BM

You say Marshall had no faith in the backups .. maybe because he traded them away to other teams throughout the year .. do you think Simpkin might have been handy to have hung onto until the end of the year ?
