Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wow.

The common understanding of League’s “modern era” is the last 50 years, or at least 30 years (for the more modern era). Either way, Yeo wouldn’t be anywhere near the top forwards.
But if you mean the last 3-5 years, then sure, Yeo would be regarded in the top tier.
Ok, I didn’t know it was defined, I was just speaking in the general.

Peak Cameron Murray always got my heart pumping. Eyes up footy player, student of the game and seemingly invulnerable to being regularly pulverised!

Anyway, I’m glad you subscribe to yeos game as well. One of the players the smuglets built their team around and deservedly so.

coaching candidates - IF Benji is sacked now or after we lose the first 8 games.

who would you pick?

1. Brad Arthur
2. Madge
3. Holbrook
4. Josh Hannay
5. John Morris
6. ??????

Apart from the first two you wouldn't go the others.

Either 1 or 2.

Probs Madge (assuming he would take it)

Question is -- who would get us more wins in a year? Doesn't matter if madge burns people out if we win a comp in two years.

And would Galvin sign extension if current NSW coach was coming on board? hmmmm.

None are appealing, how about we sign a decent playing roster, make the top 8 and then everyone is happy to keep Benji for a little bit longer.

I think it is more a case of the players he had were not capable of carrying out his instructions.
We went through that many different edge combinations and none of them looked like they knew what they were doing, even the basics.

That obviously speaks to the level of players that were in those positions but the fact we were so consistently bad no matter who was there is also a coaching issue. Not to mention the zero line speed and defence from marker issues

We wish.

Understandably one of the players that the panthers have fought tooth and nail to keep and sacrificed a lot of talent for.

The best forward of the modern era imho, took the title from one Cameron Murray.
Out of all the players we need from penrith, he the one. He is the best leader, best defender, and best forward in the game. Cleary, Luai, Edwards are good but Yeo IS the system. He would be the best value buy for us, only downside is he is nearly 30

Melbourne Storm forward Tristan Powell is reportedly being offered and shopped around to several teams as he looks to claim a regular starting spot - plays as a prop
Has been a standout in the QLD Cup for the Brisbane Tigers over the past two seasons
Awarded the Tigers Forward of the Year in 2023 - which saw him earn his NRL first-grade debut last month.

anyone else wake up today and think Benji sux?

how come every commentator, punter, fan and barrista knows that if we kicked to the corners and were disciplined against parra we would've gone so much better.

his game plans suck.

we're going to go terrible until he gets sacked.

anyone saying we're in teh same position as the dogs is rubbish. Ciraldo was a defensive coach for years and has it in his blood. Benji has never been that player. He's off the cuff. Just like our teams discipline, game management, ball control and field position.

dang.
Benji doesn’t coach off the cuff. You can’t coach how he played. He coaches structure. I think he will become a little more focused on s&c and contact in defence. Not many that played against Parra will make the 17 next year if everyone is fit.

No.
Still love ya Benji.
But I wish Bennett was coming here instead.

Like Sheens, he believes you can do whatever you want on the field as long as you practice it at training.

I've just never worked out how you practice giving away penalties, getting sin binned and getting sent off.
