Sorry, we don't suck. He sucks and has the record to prove it.Respectfully, totally disagree. We hang out hat on Benjis week away when no one was there. Just shows how bad we suck

He pretty much admitted after that Parra game that he’ll walk away if next year is a total failure. If we get smashed in the first 7 rounds he will be gone. This is a competition. We cannot afford to come last every year without consequences. Even those that support him will run for the hills.
I can't believe you are comparing Benji with Bennett.Bennett does what he wants. He is all over the place. He doesn’t go to Fiji because he doesn’t have young kids. What difference? The fact that we suck and the media worked out Benji had 6 nights instead of 4 in a place suited to young kids? Don’t get it. Whether he was in Brisbane or Hamilton Island, doesn’t matter. Media beat up. And we love it here.
Season = Fail. Sure.B+?..🤣🤣🤣 GTFOH!!
This season is an F.
He has 2 spoons in a row with a team containing a fair amount of experience and some exciting young guns.Season = Fail. Sure.
But I was grading Benji.
Brilliant summary of reality.Benji problem wasnt necessary going away -- it was compounded with the fact that
1. He preached family over football - even though most coaches agree with this -- they still want their players thinking that they have to die on the field to win the comp
2. We were ill disciplined and horribly defensively -- which emphasised his carefree attitude
3. Our results were poor -- which again aligned more to his "time out from football" "play what you see" "lets have fun this game"
4. He is a first time coach -- that was given the job out of nepotism -- he didnt earn it like other senior head coaches that have done ten years plus.
5. The perception in the game that we don't train hard enough -- mentioned by players who have left.
It was all these things that made him going away look bad.
If Bellamy went away no one would care. Bellamy screams when his teams are up by 50 and drop the ball in the 78th minute.
The Tigers were performing poorly at the time, with people qustioning benjs work ethic and our teams performances which aligned with his carefree attitude.
If we started winning - then everyone would say he was right.
But we got smacked the next game against St George.
Benji has not earned the right to go away on a holiday mid season.
Jeff Bezos worked twenty years without a holiday when he built Amazon.
I would say this - if you had a player in the NRL who had never played before, and wanted to be an NRL player -- do you think he would have to work harder than the other players? Yes...
Benji is a first year coach -- who seemingly works less than the other coaches who have years and years of experience.
Benji not seeing that the perception is the reality shows either his inexperience OR his arrogance.
You can't ask your players to run through walls and die on the field for you IF you don't show them that you do that too -- does Benji say that? No. He says family first, footy second, most important thing is enjoying the ride.... all that is great but i bet the players playing for the Storm and winning are having better family time than our players because they feel good about winning.
Benji trying to be Wayne Bennet without the 50 years of coaching to get there.
He has to earn the respect -- not get it because of his name.
i wouldnt care if Benji went away IF we were solid in defense and discipline
I wouldnt care if Benji went away IF after our losses he said "That was terrible" instead of "I was proud of our effort"
I wouldnt care if benji went away IF his actions and words outside of that showed a complete dedication to excellence ON EVERY SINGLE PLAY... just like Bellamy.
and i wouldnt care if we were winning.
But i dont get that feeling with him. So i do care.
You are basing that off your opinion and an assumption that you are right and he is wrong. You don’t know what went on at the club before Benji went away, what went on while he was away, or after he got back.
Hard to put the effort in when you are clueless. Go and do an apprenticeship with a first grade coach for 5 years and then put your hand up for a first grade job.How do you know Benji isn’t putting 10hrs a day in?
I’m not saying Benji is even close to the same bucket as Craig, Wayne or others and deserves to be treated the same way - but do think Benji is putting the effort in.
Maybe let Benji go to Hamilton Island and stay there!Let’s make sure Benji goes to Hamilton Island only. More expensive than Fiji and he can spy on Craig 😂
Civil Electrical contractor….underground infrastructure to commercial sites including pad mount substations, converting overhead power to underground, infrastructure to new suburbs, street lights, traffic lights and electric road signage etc…Curious, what do you do?
Sounds like fitouts or construction..
Benji -FSeason = Fail. Sure.

Can you shine some light on this club? been in the dark for last 13 years.Civil Electrical contractor….underground infrastructure to commercial sites including pad mount substations, converting overhead power to underground, infrastructure to new suburbs, street lights, traffic lights and electric road signage etc…
That’s because they’re buried under thick bullshit. Can you shine some light on this club? been in the dark for last 13 years.
How did (premiership and SOO winner) Madge go with our shitty roster and your very hard nosed approach? 4 wins.Benji problem wasnt necessary going away -- it was compounded with the fact that

Tucker what are you like at coaching first gradeCivil Electrical contractor….underground infrastructure to commercial sites including pad mount substations, converting overhead power to underground, infrastructure to new suburbs, street lights, traffic lights and electric road signage etc…
Somewhere between Benji and shit.Tucker what are you like at coaching first grade
😆
I had a customer who made a lot of commercial switchboards.Civil Electrical contractor….underground infrastructure to commercial sites including pad mount substations, converting overhead power to underground, infrastructure to new suburbs, street lights, traffic lights and electric road signage etc…
Mate he know he has a guaranteed contract with us and his manager does to.😩😩😩😩
the batemen situation is not a good one
a week ago he was staying in the uk
not sure the change of heart, or maybe we didnt want to contribute to his salary
Let’s face it. We would have had just as ‘successful’ result in recruitment/ restructuring the football department, team culture if Benji was a face of our club and an assigned halves coach than with him as coach in fact had we had a more experienced coach with Benji as assistant we might of been even more attractive to players then how we are now.Everyone makes errors. Especially rookie coaches. I give the bloke credit for his first season for a few reasons.
1. He brings credibility. Compared to other years the media has actually been quite respectful of us this year. I don’t count the DT gossip BS.
2. He handles media as good as anyone.
3. Despite having the least depth of any coach he kept the playing group together and won in rds 24 & 25
4. He’s shown an ability to recruit good players
On the other side, there’s clear deficiencies tactically but those are things I think he’ll learn, and like you said, he has owned this.
I’d give BQM a B+ grade and he basically achieved the results I expected.
Less than 10 wins in 2025 and he’ll come under a fair bit of pressure.
B+?..🤣🤣🤣 GTFOH!!
