take the good with the bad. his comments in the Herald were excellent the other day. I don’t blame him for not wanting to leave the Sharks and right now he’s in the middle of a finals campaign.

let’s judge him on what he says and does during preseason.

He went decent. Some good efforts on defence at times and is very physical in defence. His go forward was good but would have like a couple more runs. Sharks had more momentum when he was on.

He basically said he wanted to stay at the Sharks next year and then retire, thats where his head was. Then the opportunity of a 3 year deal was too much security to ignore.

It actually sounded very concerning IMO. Almost like he admitted he signed a retirement package.

Let's hope the attitude he showed in his first interview when he signed is the one he brings.

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see him being the forward leader we need. He is just a tougher version of the pillow but plays less minutes.

Bateman hasn’t done anything here but I’m more at ease that he’s coming back - even if we get him money, who we buying… we had 800+ and the best we could come up with is a bloke who can’t handle 70 odd 20 minute NRL games…
At 30!!

When are we replacing Stefano - and what are we doing on top of replacing Stefano that will stop us getting monstered in the middle?

That leaves us needing guys like Skelton, Olam & Turuva to carry a lot of the yardage work. Watching guys like Kikau & Homole play, we’re going to need Sam Fainu to go up another level if we want to compete.

On Luai, it could end up like Api if it doesn’t go well. Fans will give him a year or 18 months before they turn on him.

Only hope hunt can dominate on both side of the ball… and we can find some more help - what we have isn’t gonna do much more than it’s doing…
Sam and Fonua have some more on them - weather they find it here in the next 12-18 months is anyone’s guess.
Tito is getting found out more and more I feel - he’s not going to get the ride he gets out there with us…
Think the game being played in the opposite end of the field than he’s used to is going to knock him back a few pegs further…
