Luke Brooks #167

Congrats to Brooksy on his first finals appearance and the victory against the Dogs. It was a hard fought win and he really held his own.
Wishing him the best of luck for the rest of the finals series 🙏 he's facing some formidable opponents.

Enjoyed watching this little passage of play
Gotta love that scrum play. 😍

Dogs still wondering what happend there. 🤣

I'm glad Luke at least has the opportunity to play finals football ..He has talent, however he was being turned into something he was never going to be..A PLAYMAKER,he was alway a running 5/8 and should have stayed that way..it's no good blaming everyone and everyone, let him enjoy his last few NRL seasons doing what he does best, support and run ..

He’s put on a couple of lovely tries with deception the last few weeks. He’s not vocal enough to be the dominant halfback, but he can ball play.

It wasn’t personal nor was it abuse, it was just telling it how it is. And don’t pretend you’re not a Brooks fan. You creamed your pants when he threw a standard pass to DCE that any first grade 1/2 could throw and claimed he had a great game while ignoring the rest of the 79 minutes where he was invisible.

I’ll take my “flimsy” facts over your sycophantic slobbering over Brook’s ineptitude.
If you reckon Brooks was invisible for 79 mins. of the game, you obviously didn't see how many tackles he made, as the Dogs were running at him for nearly the whole game and was the 1st tackler in and brought most of them down with great legs tackles.
I never heard who got man-of-the-match, but if it wasn't Brooks he must have at least been close to it.

Takes character to post like that. Brooksy is 80 mins off a prelim, we’re still last and people still wanna bash him. LOL.
Such is the obsession It's getting to a point that he must have towelled their kids up in U7's, Stole the Hot Chick from them in 7th grade or some such... it's that petty!! 😂😂

Half of his detractors from the last few years have been relatively quiet this year,
It's only a couple of empty Tin Cans that remain....
They're not going anywhere (thank God)
Long live the Brooks thread!!

I maintain as long Brooks doesnt take potshots at a club that was as loyal to him as we keep hearing he was loyal to, what happens with his career now is his to own.
It was the fans who had problems with Brooks and it wasn't only our fans. Everyone is happy when you are winning and it must be a nice change because I haven't seen him that passionate during a game- like he has been in the last couple of weeks- for years.

Brooks was pivotal in the Manly win, particularly in their last 2 tries.
His coach was giving high praise indeed, think he deserved it though.

He's had an ordinary game or 2 for them...
Though he's had more good / great games than ordinary ones.
All in amongst a new team, New Coach and all that....

The monkey is off the back and I can't not see him being even better next year
with a few more Manly miles in him.

This thread will still be here, with the usuals hoping his dog gets stolen or run over on Christmas.
Should be a hoot!!

No doubt some people here have a weird hatred for him, but I'm guessing some of the frustration comes from how he has been talking about us in the media since leaving.

I personally wish him nothing but the best, and I'm glad to see him playing a big part in Manly's finals run.
Yeah some go a bit over the top with it.
He’s just not as good as we thought he’d be, but he’s still a decent half. If we were told he was as good as Daniel Mortimer instead of Joey Johns we would have been happy with the way he turned out.
But I can’t wish him the best.
My thing is this, you are either with us or against us, and if you’re against then all the bad luck and shite karma to you, and may the football gods rain down drop ball, bad passes, miss kicks and miss tackles on you for the rest of your career, and if you ever diss the Tigers then for the rest of your life. Dora falls into the second category, bad luck to him for life. Luke is still in the first category.

Maybe,
I thought they're all just blaming one bloke because we're a shitty organisation....
He's gone - We're still here..... and still a Shitty organisation.

Go Figure.

Nothing will ever be as petty as someone implying he’s a child molester just after he signed with Manly.

Of all the former Tigers players going around, Brooks is one I have very little issue with. He did his time and never stopped trying hard for the club; I cannot complain. Clearly he's a decent first grader, I don't think anyone ever doubted it, and he is aided by a fairly handy roster, which is also not a surprise.

I still think Brooks to Melbourne a few years back would have been a terrific move for both him and that club. I don't trust Manly to keep consistent performances, especially if one or both of DCE and Turbo retire.

My only issue with Brooksey was the fact that he
never found his voice, or put his hand up at the very
least and said coach, I don't think I'm a 7. The club
and player mugged one another for a decade stretch

he did have a fair few coaches at the Tigers, 4 or so in his tenure. In hindsight one coach should have said to him you are playing 6 and go and recruit a 7 or he should have said it to the coaches.
