Onitoni Large to Manly

Galvin should be the prime example used for junior retention. Put the hard work in preseason and the rest will follow.
I’m not disappointed large has left because he’s unproven. Seen many kids play well in juniors but fall off a cliff in seniors. Not saying that will happen but if he’s looking for an easy path to firsts you’d have to question his hard working ability

Seems every kid who laces up a boot now only wants to sign if he’s guaranteed a spot in the halves or at fullback…. and that comes from their managers.
Most kids aren't like that, I don't think. Its just a few special managers out there making their clients look like jerks.

I think the club need to announce something around this. Normally juniors leaving doesnt get announced but the club has been touting him and the fact that he’s contracted long term.

This sounds exactly what happened with Paseka when he left. We made a big deal when we signed him long term and 6 months later somehow he ended up at Manly.

I haven’t watched a lot of the jnr’s last few years so don’t know much about him. Was he a regular in his team, didn’t we get the wooden spoon in all grades? Is he better than Galvin or Fainu?
we can’t keep them all.

A kid who’s a talented prospect or a guy that’s played in four grand finals and won three. Quite possibly about to play a fifth grand final and win a fourth comp. Plus two 19 year olds who have proven they can play first grade.

Good luck to him. Can’t wait for the headline when DCE retires and Brooksy busts out the old Its My Team now. Really Luke? Had your chance at the Tigers champ. Loser.

He got injured towards the end of the year and missed the GF and Schoolboys tournament.
His team played the grand final against a red hot Warriors and got a spanking.
You can’t compare players as first graders until they’ve played first grade. I saw him a couple of times. He is one of those players who has time. He glides around the field almost effortlessly. He’ll see plenty of top grade footy.

Wow the world has ended, a 17 year old who hasn't played NRL is leaving us. We should have signed him up for a 1 million a year ten year contract, he could have been our next Jacob Miller or Blake Lazarus. Instead we have some guy Luai and Galvin in the halves next year and another guy Fainu who might be able to play.

or we could have kept him whilst under contract another year and see what happens with Galvin

Yeah, it's a massive shame. It may well mean we lose Ashton as well. I hope not. He is something special as well by all reports.

It is disappointing to see a talented junior leave but he is going to a club where he wont have to work as hard to make first grade as he would here.He is only a massive loss if he achieves his potential and he would be at least 2 years from getting to that level.I would have liked him to stay but it's not the end of the world if he goes
