Sorry I ment Large and GalvinTartak manages the Fainus.
does this Galvin clause in Large’s contract mean we probably didn’t get anything in return?
Moses doesn’t manage LargeSorry I ment Large and Galvin
Danny Weidler’s column today …
Large consequences
The ridiculous clauses in Stefano Utoikamanu’s Wests Tigers contract, where he could leave if they missed the top eight, have resulted in the club adopting a new approach, and that has cost them rising star Onitoni Large.
Large, who has joined Manly, wanted clauses inserted in his contract that made him a free agent if Lachlan Galvin signed a new deal to stay at the Tigers beyond 2026. The Tigers no longer want to do deals that can come back to haunt them in the future. Particularly when the intention is for Galvin to be a long-term Tiger. It would mean they would have developed Large for another season or two and then potentially lost him.
It is Large’s agent’s job to do the best deal for his client, but the Tigers don’t want agents setting the tone for them.
It may cost them a player or two, but the feeling is they can’t be pushovers or they will never drag themselves out of the cellar. Taking a strong stance when you are running last is a brave move, but one they are comfortable with.
Different managers, but no doubt Moses will want clauses in there based on top 8.Sorry I ment Large and Galvin
Untill Richo comes out and explains how he let large go , we will be just guessing, that’s if he even tell us supporters. Getting sick of been told crap like we are a developing club and that will be are go , then this happens , if the kid was as good as they say , pay him half’s money and stick him in the centres but just letting him walk is a REALLY bad look
Do we ever?does this Galvin clause in Large’s contract mean we probably didn’t get anything in return?
This is a horrible story if true and displays the current road the NRL could go down if stuff like this continues.Danny Weidler’s column today …

Yes Onitoni is an amazing talent but he hasn't even played SG ball yet and to demand a clause which inherently states that he will play first grade is greedy and downright disgusting.
Now I am not putting any of this on Onitoni It was probably all his manager. But it just shows the power managers are going to play in the future.
If young talent begins to get this greedy it will lead to some shocking deals with clauses and third party deals riddled all over them.
I was in shock when I saw this and I still can not believe it ...
There needs to be bigger salary cap deductions for juniors you develop and if they leave the club should get some sort of compensation in return. It will help stop teams like Roosters cheery picking top line talent and must develop some themselves.Clubs that develop the game through juniors end
up getting stung, it's become a bit futile. Going to
get way worse with NRL expansion. Vlandy's and
RLPA are soon going to be at logger heads again
trying to figure out player movements & contracts
I'm not sure how much influence the NRL has over player managers and junior players but the self interest of managers needs to be hauled in or there will be no even spread of talent. They will continue to hold clubs to ransom while keeping the strong clubs stocked. Something has to give. There needs to be bigger salary cap deductions for juniors you develop and if they leave the club should get some sort of compensation in return. Damn so these stupid clauses are becoming a regular thing amongst all the agents now, the nrl needs to seriously reign some of this stuff in, just look at Stephano and the Parra players these clauses can derail teams.I believe Large is managed by Apex Sports

Richo needs to seriously explain what went down with Large leaving, none of it makes sense. Was he even signed 5 years? If so how is he gone and how are they talking about a Galvin clause. Evening then still not sure what the massive issue is with the clause. He stays for another 2 years Galvin leaves and either he or Latu get the 6 jersey. Galvin stays we have had the chance to show him a pathway at either centre or fullback. I assume the fact there is talk about the clause meant he was happy to stay. The silence from the club is deafening.
