2024 Grand Final

Hughes has been the best player of 2024.

It's insane how good both these teams are.

I heard a stat on foxleague the other night where they said this is Harry Grants first grand final which is crazy in its self.

We're literally going to be watching the best of the best.

My heart is telling me, Melbourne win.
The Melb wingers, Warbrick & Coates will be in for a big night - both attack and defence.

And we wanna see the old Papi, big runs, hair blowing in the breeze, absolutely taking it to these panthers lads.
unlike the previous years Penrith souths, Penrith Parramatta think this will be good.

I'm on the Riff three reasons:

1. I played all of my junior and most of my senior footy in the Penrith competitions.
2. Luai and Taruva about to be Tigers
3. Melboune - says it all; but then again I also despise Manly (Silvertails), Parra (next competition over from ours as juniors), Brisbane (posted there when they entered the competiton) and the Rorters (self explanatory).

That was a crazy game.
Storm actually led 26 nil and Penrith came back led by Cleary. It had a penalty try and a a sinbin. Melbourne were bombarded in the last 10 minutes a man short, just hanging on.
I think this Sunday’s game will be full of drama again.
Someone will write their name into history….Munster? Papi? Cleary? Luai?
I think either Isaiah Yeoh or Jarome Hughes will win the Clive Churchill.
How can it not be full of drama with a Klown officiating the proceedings.

Anyone know who is in the bunker or has their name been suppressed to protect them in case of the odd howler?

Whatever happened to Adam Gee, has he been sighted lately?

True Rugby League fans care.
It’s going to be an excellent contest.
I hope so! I’d be happy for Penrith to win again, I’ve always had a soft spot for them, despite their coach lol and success, but I do really think Melbourne deserve it this year. I love they way they bring no name, average players (Meaney, Blore, King, Katoa etc) and turn them into amazing team players that support and enable the ‘stars’ to do their business. Being doing it since day dot.

Yeah my thoughts as well.
It would be cool to see Penrith set a record for the modern era. With the quality of players leaving it is likely their last GF visit for a little while.
That said, Melbourne deserve this title based on their work over the past 11 months.
I don’t have a dog in this fight. May the best team win!

I cannot wait.

Melbourne are effectively playing a mirror image of themselves from about ten years ago. a side that will go set for set and wear you down, but has the sheer footballing brilliance of a handful of individuals that can blow you apart in an instant.

the Storm have been the best team all year, no doubt, but they're playing a ruthless winning machine without their enforcer in NAS. their spine will produce the points they need, but can a busted Welch and a rookie in Vaalepu hold strong defensively? I'm not so sure.

I can only see one winner, providing Cleary's shoulder holds up. Penrith are made for this time of year.

Melbourne are one of the best clubs to ever participate in this game. I find the hatred towards them absolutely hilarious.
You can’t compare St George and their monopoly to Penrith. For starters, Penrith have achieved this in the era of salary cap and have lost players every year, yet maintained dominance. That’s remarkable.

Both these clubs are leap years ahead of ours. We aren’t even playing the same sport as them. I take interest in watching 2 great clubs who understand the game fully taking each other on.
Totally agree Tucker , yes they cheated many years ago but in the last 5 years they are the ideal club at finding and developing relative "no names "
They learnt their lesson and reformed and I admire that
Yes they also had a " referee whisperer " in Cam Smith " but he's gone too
Roosters are the ones who I don't admire as they mainly target existing superstars and apparently can afford them
Eg 2 years ago the hottest dummy half in the game was Brandon Smith
1 year later the hottest winger was the powerful knights winger Dom Young
These are the types of players the Roosters target

Melbourne in a close one. Cleary’s shoulder will probably cause some issues for Riff. The Storm’s spine will probably hold the key and their aerial advantage on the wings.

In saying the above Riff’s defence is top notch and there is always the Klien factor, anything can happen when he controls a game

Yep.
Even those years they cheated, they were trying to keep blokes who they brought to the club as kids and fully developed. I’m not excusing them, but there’s a big difference between doing that and pinching existing stars from struggling clubs and then telling the world they came to you on unders.
Melbourne have pretty much always been a development club of castoffs, rejects and no names.
Now Penrith are as well.

Yeo is my tip. But I have storm winning

It depends on how much interference comes from the ref's/officials.

Get up and in face of Cameron Munster and Jerome Hughes. Introduce them to the taste of the surface of the footy field in most tackles.
Shut down / limit the input from these two players, and will it be beneficial for a Penrith win.
