A great tiger passed away , Bryan Lockwood , wish we could sign a lock like him today . Him and Neil Pringle were great to watch back in the day .
Rest in peace 🙏

Hard as nails with silky ball playing skills. The try he laid on for Bing Pringle in a final match of the mid week comp was amazing. Classy player and classy guy![]()

Yep from memory it was against the Bears in the final of the mid week compHow about that flick pass he used to throw to Pringle close to the line.
He'd dummy open side and flick back inside to a charging Neil Pringle. I don't remember watching a game where they played together and they didn't run that play, yet it worked time after time There wasn't a whole lot of video review in those days.I remember that flick pass well. Pringle under the posts.
What a loss to the Wests Tigers community. He was my idol at one stage. That flick pass to Neil Pringle inspired my football career (not that it came to much). Rest in Peace Brian, you were a great player and an inspiration to at least one young footballer.![]()

Thanks mate for posting this sad news. Both Lockwood and Dave Bolton are now deceased. My father often comments his ball skills were exceptional. Many coaches today would not permit this type of passing, preferring a more robotic style with one of our former coaches in particular coming to mind.
Was it Bing Pringle who told Junior Pearce if you are going to make a covering tackle at Leichhardt, do it on the western touch line? Pearce apparently thought it was because of the downhill slope of the ground toward that touch line. Pringle said no if you are going to make a spectacular tackle, you want the most applause and that will be from the Latchem Robinson stand.
