Worst Signing in Wests Tigers History

The marquee signings post 2011 were horrendous: Anasta, Blair considering the Tigers were actually a desirable place to be, with a distinct playing style and some well established first graders.

The signings at the next roster change over (after Moses, Teddy and Woods left) were also awful: Reynolds, Mbye, Packer, Ballin.

For balance the signings of Whatuira, Payten, Prince, Hodgson in 2004 were incredible,

Tuquiri and Ellis before our purple patch were also outstanding

I categorise it in two ways, there are signings like Blair, Reynolds, Packer, Mbye etc that people were quite happy with at the time but turned out crap.

Then there was the last re-signing of Brooks that most people didn't want, the re-signing of Tim Sheens and now our current coach. Most people didn't approve of these signings and the results are for all to see.

Even if you look at Lee, Pascoe etc, if you go back to the initial threads, people were quite happy with this signing.

I still think the "non re signing" of Mick Potter was one of our biggest mistakes as well. I think he would've made a hell of a coach, in the Cleary mould. Quite understated but firm.

Jamal Idris or Chris McQueen.

Both were busted up and probably should have retired rather than chase a final pay cheque but it's equally on the club for signing them in the first place.

Adam Blair at least had a go and nearly got us in the top 8 in his first season.

I'm with you on Mick Potter. He did well with a very average roster.

Got to be Adam Blair. We've had worse in terms of value/performance but his signing derailed a long-term premiership challenging team. What could have been with Fifita et al still at the club. One club heroes like Rhino and even Beau Ryan...

In terms of dud buys, Adam Reynolds, Anasta, Graham, Ballin, Buettner... It's a crowded field.

James Roberts, people will tell me he cost nothing but he was symbolic of a desperate club who didn’t have a clue what a winner looks like.
