And they couldn't do it if he was to represent Australia.if they are threatening his future because he wants to play international footy … i suspect the NRL won’t see it the same way

You’re forgetting Pascoe added 300k to deals just for shits and giggles. Not hundreds of thousands - for a player who is a local junior and who has only played 30 minutes of first grade and has reasonable prospects of an average career (which is currently about 75 games) in the NRL. Every club has hyped up juniors until they don't realise the supposed potential. Maybe 150K - and Bateman is on 4 times as much and they didn't stop him from playing.
That’s why he shouldn’t be top 30 yet. When he signed an NRL contract he probably agreed to certain things. Diet, physical prep etc etcHe is 19 and not yet an NRL forward … why would anyone expect him to meet those physical requirements ? Not everyone is an athletic freak like Galvin

Not as easy as it looks. It’s Moses brokering the deal and he sways a ton of influence in who goes where and when. Of course in the real World you would be telling Bateman to love it or leave it, but it’s not that simpleFor the life of me,
I can't see how Bateman seems to be dictating the terms here, he seems to have made it clear that he is not open minded about playing in a Benji coached team again, should we not just be telling him what to do,
And if he doesnt,
That's breaking his contract, time for him to piss off.
No I have not seen his contract. You or I have got no idea what is in his contract
Maybe that's just hearsay or we want to believe it because we didn't like Pascoe and we'll never know for sure. These are still the rulesYou’re forgetting Pascoe added 300k to deals just for shits and giggles.

This could be just a rubbish rumour, but there is a lot of smoke around it and there has been silence from the club.
I know Miller is only young but I don't see a future where you can run with both Royce Hunt and Miller in the same 17.
I rate Miller and if he does the work, he could be anything but he hasn't really changed his body shape much IMO since he was 18.
If true, I think the Club sees this as a valuable transaction because the cost to kit Miller out would clothe three outside backs. 🤣 🥃 🥄🥄🥄I doubt he’s meeting all the physical testing requirements of an NRL forward and the club could probably use that in their favour. Only speculation.
And my argument is that he wasn’t physically ready for NRL this year and perhaps the club are trying to address that.Maybe that's just hearsay or we want to believe it because we didn't like Pascoe and we'll never know for sure. These are still the rules
Under NRL rules all players must be available for representative football if eligible.
If he's selected has the right and an obligation to play without interference from the club.
Exactly, it’s just an odd point BAG is making really. Do people think manly want Turbo playing? Or panthers want Edwards to play with his lingering knee issue? No clubs don’t get to pick & choose who can play rep. If this ends up being true NRL will definitely have some kind of fine comingif they are threatening his future because he wants to play international footy … i suspect the NRL won’t see it the same way

That argument doesn't seem to be within the current requirements of the rules - and couldn't be invoked it he was going to represent Australia. And my argument is that he wasn’t physically ready for NRL this year and perhaps the club are trying to address that.

& Fiji think Miller is ready to represent his country… so what’s your point? Who cares if Tigers want him in the gym instead of representing his country, if the phone rings of course he is going to answer. If this is true it’s a complete embarrassment to even give a 19 year old the ultimatum of country or NRL contractThose players are all NRL ready.

Still doesn't matter under the NRL rules.Fiji give him a tracksuit.
Richo pays his mortgage.
Or they just said we would prefer that you stay here..............but your decision? The Miller rumour makes zero sense … preventing him playing rep footy …unless he is carrying an injury and they have told him not to risk aggravating it
