Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If I was him I'd let us pay me out & chase the dream
elsewhere. Can't c him cracking 1st grade unfortunately
but I don't know shit, for all I know he's staying here

So u seen what happened to brooks when he left , most on here said he was hopeless boy did he kick sand in peoples face , if Bateman goes too and had a brilliant season , would it not make sense that something is wrong with our coaches
Kick sand in people's faces. He was serviceable in a talented team. But look at his performance in big games like the final and emotionallly big against us at Leichhardt. Brooks went to water, dropped balls, kicks out on the full, poor defensive reads. He wasn't any better this year than last. He just got carried by DCE and Turbo

One thing to also consider with all of this speculation is our $$$. With Stef not signing, Richo was stated saying he had roughly 2 mil to spend. Since then we signed Hunt, Bird & Skelton.

Let's say there a 1 mil there.

We pay out Tumeth. Another $200K or so.

Everyone else were already budgeted for. So that's $800K up our sleeve.

Sione, I would think be around $300K.

So pending if we payout/release anyone & don't get a cent back we have $500K up to spend.

If clubs were smart, they wouldn’t be lining up for him. Seems like we are stuck with him.
Anthony Milford had a contract this year....
Anything is possible.

I reckon Bud would go OK at a Strong Club as a 5/8 - Only OK....
I never saw the love for him, Even after he chopped us up that day

Twal is our best forward?? Wow.
Better than Pole and Fainu?
Come on man.
Don’t you wonder why Bellamy (or any other coach) has never come for him? He’d be far more affordable than Stef…

I watch every game and year in year out, and Twal would consistently be in the conversation for least effective forwards in the league.
Sure, there’s an argument that plodders have their place, but those players need to have at least a little bite. Twal doesn’t and so for me he is in the same esteemed class of Buchanan and Lovett.
Buchanan and Lovett. Why bring back the past. lol. Damm weve had some floggs go though our club. Who would you have in our worst 5 ever. Lovett was seriously the talking point with us, how he kept getting picked . Smh. Im not a fan of Twal but wouldnt be in my worst 5. and btw Mbye has to be in everyones list considering the money he was stealing every year.

I’m convinced people will still be arguing sgout Brooks 5 years after he’s dead.

Wests Tigers rookie, Jordan Miller, has engaged lawyers (Lee Hagipantelis) after he was breached and sacked by WT over claims he was late to training on numerous occasions. He claims the second incident there was extenuating circumstances and not his fault. Police are involved with no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Miller but he claims it prevented him from getting to training on time.

NRL 2024: Former chairman Lee Hagipantelis hired to represent sacked Wests Tigers rookie Jordan Miller against the club | Sunday Session

Wests Tigers’ major sponsor and former chairman Lee Hagipantelis has been hired to represent sacked rising star Jordan Miller against the NRL club.

The turbulent relationship between the Tigers and their former chairman Lee Hagipantelis has exploded once with the club’s outgoing major sponsor at the centre of legal action being undertaken against the club over the sacking of rising star Jordan Miller.

Hagipantelis’ firm Brydens Lawyers has taken on the case to represent Miller against the Tigers just days before he formally cuts ties as the club’s major sponsor, with that deal expiring at the end of this month.
Hagipantelis confirmed that Brydens Lawyers had taken on Miller’s case, but would not be drawn into the specifics of the matter.
It is understood that the 19-year-old is disputing the club’s reasoning for their intent to terminate his contract.
The matter is now expected to head to arbitration and could end up in the courtroom if it is not resolved.

Former Wests Tigers Chairman Lee Hagipantelis has been hired to represent a player against the club.
The Tigers will claim that Miller was late to a training session – for the second time – and was subsequently breached leading to his impending sacking.
However, the youngster will claim the most recent breach occurred because of extenuating circumstances relating to a personal nature.

Police are involved but there are no allegations of any wrongdoing by Miller aside from getting to training late. Despite the personal upheaval he still attended the session.
Miller made his NRL debut this year and played two games off the bench. He is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2026 and represented Fiji in their Test against PNG last weekend.
The fact that Miller has chosen Hagipantelis to take on the matter adds another layer to the fractious relationship between the club’s former high profile chairman.

Hagipantelis was dumped as chairman last December after a wide-ranging review and subsequently told the club he would not be renewing his major partnership deal.
Hagipantelis described the process that led to his departure as “despicable” in a letter The Sunday Telegraph obtained in May.
“The disgraceful events of 12 December last year impacted significantly and adversely on the relationship of Brydens Lawyers and Wests Tigers given the disrespectful way I, as chairman of Wests Tigers, was treated by the representatives of the club’s stakeholders,” Hagipantelis wrote.
“Recent events have compounded the concerns which I have held with respect to the continuing relationship of Brydens Lawyers and Wests Tigers.”

Hagipantelis wished coach Benji Marshall and the club well, but feared for it’s future.
“I have the philosophical difficulty of continuing in business with people in whom I repose no respect,” he said.
“I speak of the representatives of the stakeholders with whom I had the displeasure of serving on the Board.
“These persons are still engaged in the Club whether it be in a formal or informal capacity.
“I regard these people as cowards.”
Hagipantelis has not attended any Tigers home game this year nor any formal functions despite putting in seven figures to help fund the club.
The Tigers are yet to announce a new front of jersey sponsor

I’d say he got a top 30 deal because he made the blues under 19 origin team. He must have been doing well for Sheens to give him an NRL berth ahead of Kautoga and whoever else was available at the time, while waiting for Bateman to come good in 2023. Hasn’t been close to start since.

I just think the club has been bad at talent ID. Penrith’s #1 requirement is fitness, then the footy unless there is something in the footy you can’t ignore. You look at their forwards and they can maintain intensity. Must also be why they’ve given Zaukuri Clarke a dev deal while WT offered nothing. I’ve heard he ran rings around the entire WT Flegg squad last pre-season. Penrith will turn him into a consistent NRL footballer.
We might regret that one. Think he'll make a very good 13.

before any player is sacked, its checked over and over by multiple sources and legal teams, then passed (usually) via the players association for an unbiased opinion around fairness

lee absolutely looking to stay relevant
Just curious, but what’s your source for the process of dismissal. Curious and wanna read up more about it

The irony 🤡🤣

Least we know we were getting better than a mill for the jersey front

So we currently have 8-10 players contracted to us for 2025 who we don’t want, but can’t get rid of as we have drastically over paid them and no other club will pay them anywhere near what we are.
Of those 10 it’s lucky if even half of them have the right attitude in wanting to dig deep and try and prove they can be an asset for the club moving forward, the others are just happy to take the mickey and collect their over inflated pay cheques.
It’s verging on a disaster as we head into season 2025 with this scenario hanging over our heads.
Add to this dilemma that it’s highly unlikely Benji has the right personality to forgive and forget and give players a second chance if they earn it.
It makes you wonder if Richo is wanting Benji tlo fall on his sword anticipating poor results in the first 10 rounds of 2025 which would likely lead to him being replaced with a new coach who would have the luxury of much more roster space heading into 2026.
This would highly likely mean we also lose Galvin and Pole along the way, but it very much looks how it’s heading in my opinion.
