Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Buttface, when we get our long awaited second
premiership you can auction off your cap. 1st Luai signature on Tigers gear, documented as well.
You were pulling an all nighter at the casino next
door to the press conference haha, I just remembered
You’ll be prying that hat off my cold dead buttfaced head if he wins us a GF.
In my will I’ll have it superglued to my head, open casket Viking funeral.

And yeah I did alright that weekend paid for the weeks expenses with the winnings. I had a good win with Mrs BF on the roulette. She was pretty chuffed.

Guys/Gals, any chance I can get a summary of the last 10 pages or so? We have resigned Pole to 2 years?, and a good prospect from panthers (big), Miller gone, and even NAS (didn’t sound real)? Cheers
Miller gone🧌👋 ✅ pole in talks to extend for 2 years 💈2️⃣⌛️ 2 prospects, one big boppa from Manly and the other Harrison Hassett from Penrith I think 🦅🐾👶. NAS apparently in talks with WT ⚡️🗣️🐯

See emojis for bit of references

Clubs must have 24 top 30 players by 5pm November 1. By Monday of Round 1 they must have 28 players in the top 30. 30 by 30 June (no mid season transfers after that).

I found this info earlier this year 👆
What does that mean when you have more contracted. In our case 31 after Nov 1 but before round 1?

Hunt out of the Dragons is ramping up. Douiehi has been mentioned & DT reported today we have no view to sign an extension. No major loss considering halves & backs depth. Don't see AD as a Backrower or Lock.
Make sense .. low risk for dragons and Douehi with lots of upside.
Limited upside for us given the depth in the halves already

I'm not a great fan of Twal but Klemmer does a job. He rarely misses a tackle and can put then down one on one. His defence isn't in question. His attack has diminished the last year or two but he's been a marked man as our only big go forward man. Stef was a liability, Pole's defence needs a lot of work, Sione goes okay but he doesn't hurt anyone, Twal is just Twal. I've got high hopes for Johannssen and Sukkar and Johannssen has a younger brother who could turn out to be something special. Sam Fainu in the second row will be special and Seyfarth keeps getting better.
I think if we start with Klemmer and Hunt, they are hard enough to get off to a decent start and Pole and either Sukkar or Johannssen can come on and do some work. After that, if we get a few injuries, we may be in a bit of strife.
Agreed.

There is a certain kind of Wests Tigers madness where we sign people for 4 years and 1-2 years in we start wanting to punt them. It's not just the recent Bateman/Klemmer signings. It's Roberts/BJ Leulia. It's Reynolds, Packer and then just 1 year later Mbye signed on huge deals.

Klemmer does a job, He doesn't do it the best in the league but he puts his service. Without him our forwards would be pushed around a lot more.... So people run and say "Punt him!". Were not going to get his 800k value in a player swap, heck we were only paying him 400k for his first year.

Plus it's the pack, your not replacing Klemmer 1 for 1 with a player of equal talent. If Klem hangs around and becomes our 2nd, 3rd or 4th best front rower he is still useful.

We try to swap Klemmer out we would likely be paying another club 500k to take him. That only free's up 300k cap space. ... Why do this when we can only really downgrade!

Similar for Bateman, yet we haven't been getting anywhere near as much value out of Bateman. Still it shows very poorly on our club that we sign a 4 year contract and look to break it almost the instant the first year is up.

Sorry, I just realised I spelt Mason instead of Miller!

Hopefully the news about Simione Laifai is true and
he takes Millers Development spot. Here's hoping.

I wish that Miller was only taking up a development spot, then WT could have signed someone ready to play decent minutes whilst he developed.

Players return to training at Concord on Monday next week. It will be the top 30 squad minus those playing internationals & those long-serving players (Klemmer, Api, Olam & Twal) & players in finals (Royce Hunt) whilst I think T&T players join in from then too.

I'm sure WT content guys will be supplying images so will be interesting if we see Bud, Naden & AD for obvious reasons & also whether Jack Bird wants to get straight into it with his new team (or whether he is in the long-serving contingent returning a week or so later).
