Yes, and the Roosters were paying some of his contract to boot, they were the daysI know I have a long memory (and maybe Rose Coloured Glasses) but isn't this exactly how Todd Payten arrived at the Tigers all those years ago?

Some of you people would not be happy if we signed Reg Gasnier or J C himself. Give it a rest.Trust me I want to be proven wrong and I wanted us to sign Skelton, but more as a fringe depth player than a guaranteed starter.
He’s young and potentially could become the blockbusting winger all us Wests Tigers fans desire, but I’ve watched a fair bit of him over the past 6 months or so and I’m seeing too many deficiencies in his game for my liking.
Similar story with Turuva, he gets an A for effort, but is showing nothing to suggest he will make it as a centre or be the X factor outside back we desperately need.
Obviously signing Taylan would be pending him being found not guilty in his upcoming court case, but if that happens I am all for it.We should sign Taylan and Terrel 100%
Package deal.
Clauses in contract and all that.
Last chance saloon.
I had a re-read and that totally went over my head!Agreed, it was a satirical post.
John Bateman was problematic for the Raiders before he left Canberra. And that was 20 minutes after playing a grand final and where he'd played the best footy of his career. He's a mercenary. If he was THAT good the Raiders would have stumped up the cash, and that was in 2019.
I guess that's you get when you let the guy who swapped Andrew Fifita for Adam Blair come back into the fold like nothing ever happened a decade before. I love Tim Sheens the tactician, not the recruiter.

Alright, you get to pick 2. Who are you going with?
He only signed his latest contract a few months ago, which was his upgrade. So that's roughly his current value. His value hasn't increased since then, being sacked out of nowhere decreases his value if anythingI do think he'll be in line for an upgrade. thankfully WT will be able to outbid all other suitors.
Saukuru gone also?![]()

The 2025 pre-season is officially under way with November 1 marking the start of the NRL contract period.www.weststigers.com.au
Seems like 29 contracted players with no Miller, Faagatu or Sione Fainu.
Did we really release our best two young props? WTF? We're desperately thin in the forwards, are trying to promote ourselves as a development club yet keep releasing so many of our top juniors.![]()

My claim to fame is that I arrived in Australia in 2006, and since then have only not been at two of the five finals games the Tigers have played since then: against the Raiders in 2010, as I couldn't get to Canberra on a Friday night, and against the Dragons in 2011, because I was at a work function in Melbourne.I was at that game … and the 2010 Roosters semi, and the 2010 Dragons Semi…
How did they lose all three of those games?
How is Tumeths still here.. surely we pay him out and create a spot..From that top 30, let's offload Bateman and buy out Tumeth's contract, giving 3 free spots. Then sign May and Hetherington, and re-sign Sione Fainu. That would be a competitive squad if you ask me.
1. Bula
2. Skelton
3. Olam
4. Turuva
5. Laulilii
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. Klemmer
9. Api
10. May
11. Bird
12. Sam Fainu
13. Kobe Hetherington
14. Latu Fainu
15. Hunt
16. Twal
17. Pole
18. Sione Fainu
That side would win more games than this year without a doubt.
Too true. Some of you people would not be happy if we signed Reg Gasnier or J C himself. Give it a rest.
No it says in that post he’s gotten a top 30 dealSaukuru gone also?
Nope he's on the listSaukuru gone also?
His name was in the top 30Saukuru gone also?
And Tumeth still there?Did we really release our best two young props? WTF? We're desperately thin in the forwards, are trying to promote ourselves as a development club yet keep releasing so many of our top juniors.
We didn't announce Faagutu as a departing player last night. Whatever the club is doing this is amateur. Very amateur.
Unless we announce signings of elite young props to replace them then there's no method to this madness.
Had an PO for next year. I thought the club would’ve paid him out but I guess he’s earning more money than we thought, or he simply refused to be bought out and decided to stay (probably in hope of finding another club for 26).And Tumeth still there?
I saw Miller missing but missed Fa'agutu...the plot thickens..![]()
