I would move Bird to 3 in place of Toa. We really need to fix our defence out wide and I think Bird is the better option to do that. Still not sold on Seyfarth but I would give him the 13 first up. Gives 100% can play long minutes and has good tackle efficiency. Not explosive enough for SR. I would have Sione Fainu to 17 if his contract situation is sorted prior to rnd 1. If still on T&T contract and not eligible for rnd 1 then would go with Matamua.I don't like predicting teams that much but
1. Bula
2. Skelton
3. To'a
4. Olam
5. Turuva
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. May
9. Koroisau
10. Klemmer
11. Bateman
12. S. Fainu
13. Bird
14. L. Fainu
15. Pole
16. Hunt
17. Seyfarth
Taylan May a potential option down the track too which will Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon a lot of these back up players.Totally agreed.
But none of Naden, Staines or Toa really have earned a starting spot in the 17.
I am kinda glad though who we have around. Our backline had way too many juniors.
Were seeing some real upgrades
Olam (repaired/fit)
Bird
Turuva
...
At least enough people that if someone doesn't perform they can get dropped.
We’ve all been sucking lemons for a decade, but it looks like we’re on the improve. And now that we are getting female toilets at LO we should be chasing Gina Rinehart.Well this is really getting exciting now, I am starting to believe we have enough troops to have some significant improvement in 2025.
I know there was talk about him a while ago but I think a Nelson from Melbourne would be enough to finish off our pack.
I still believe we need maybe another centre but I will say ( and its probably a unpopular opinion) we have one that's ready to go and has the skill set but needs to be man managed .... Naden.... at his best he is more than enough and maybe our coaching staff could get the best out of him
Maybe I'm a bitter sort of person but I have dreamt that Richo would go and get major sponsorship from a "bigger" law firm in Sydney than Brydens...
Imagine the press that would get for a new sponsor.
I'm backing Timmy J to get a chance off the bench somewhere in the middle of the year due to inevitable injuries as the year goes on. He won't look back and will make the spot his own.I liked @jrtiger suggestion of Bird at 17.
A really well rounded utility option for the bench, can almost play anywhere.
I know he wants the lock position but I think his value to the team is his ability to play anywhere when needed.
Tim Johannsen a smokey for forcing his way into the 17 and making a name for himself.
AhI rate Toa - he’s been unlucky in that he’s never had great halves, defending with bad wingers and been seriously unlucky with injury. Word is that he’s pretty much always had something niggling.
He’s my pick for next season to really come good on promise - at his best he’s better than Deouhi, Olam, Faatape etc Just needs to get come consistent football outside some decent players.
That's the storyline I like.I'm backing Timmy J to get a chance off the bench somewhere in the middle of the year due to inevitable injuries as the year goes on. He won't look back and will make the spot his own.
Chasing Gina Rinehart? That's an image I won't be able to shift outta my head! We’ve all been sucking lemons for a decade, but it looks like we’re on the improve. And now that we are getting female toilets at LO we should be chasing Gina Rinehart.
Ur wrong its got nothing to do with benji or Richo , ITS us great supporters giving them ideas and for once they have taken our advice lol 🤔😜Called Shane Richardson
Good carry, has an offload, a knack of finding the tryline for a prop, first contact defensively is usually strong, and the best part is just his attitude and effort. You don't come from Ron Massey Cup to debut in the NRL without putting in the hard yards. That's the storyline I like.
He looks healthy in the training footage.
I think we could make him into a real damaging backrower.
Or continue at prop.
His body shape is something we've kinda lacked for a while.
Think we've got a good one on our hands.

I know we've only seen a little but to me, he seems a bit Ryan Matterson, playing wise.Good carry, has an offload, a knack of finding the tryline for a prop, first contact defensively is usually strong, and the best part is just his attitude and effort. With a full NRL pre-season under his belt, I am excited to see what 2025 has in store for him!
Don’t agree, he has been improving very year. Not every player can be a superstar, you need low priced depth players. All clubs have them.Seyfarth is a great depth player. If we are considering him as part of our 17 in 2026 we haven't recruited well enough.
Yeah, nah!I won’t lie I’m drinking the cool aid and loving it! There is so much to be excited about.
For our starting 17 I just want the Bateman issue sorted.
I’d prefer Toa in the centre with Olam than Douhei and Fat Faataape.
Hopefully nothing like Ryan Matterson attitude wise.I know we've only seen a little but to me, he seems a bit Ryan Matterson, playing wise.
I rate him.
Lets hope just in the skills and not in the bonehead loser part of matterson 😏I know we've only seen a little but to me, he seems a bit Ryan Matterson, playing wise.
I rate him.
you beat me by 1 minute sir ! ha 😉Hopefully nothing like Ryan Matterson attitude wise.
Lol staines played a handful of games. Turuva been a 2 year main stay. You’re right future will tellTime will tell. Staines was a grand final winner in the exact same spot as Turuva. He’s awful in the centres though.
