The Media v Wests Tigers.

who is the board member that is close to him ? Name the name …The Board fired his arse a year ago right ? He probably hates them more than anyone else

But anyway …let’s unpack this ..

So Lee has managed to keep his big mouth shut about this news for a year, and waited until the middle of the offseason to leak it …when it would have been much more damaging six months ago when they were trying to sign other players ,… does that sound like his MO?

JLs Manager has an interest in getting the news out there that he is potentially available to sign in 12 months time
No it doesn’t sound like Lee, but it could if he had a 12 month NDA?

Just to add to my post...
We arent the sole joke of the league. There is good competition during the season with LOL@Souffs, Wickey's Wacky Waiders and St George always choking. The difference is that those clubs are very focused in their humour provision whereas we provide laughs across a very wide spectrum.

it’s a leak … the journo won’t reveal his source ,,,,so what repercussions would he have to face ?
Not sure I understand your point? A lawyer wouldn’t normally take a risk of possible disbarment so he waits for the 12 months expiry of the NDA. The club pays money for al these NDAs.

The Bula article is clearly click bait off the back of the Luai article and it’s written by Riccio who is the most anti-Tigers journalist out there.

The article is reporting that Bula has a mutual option in his contract in the year 2027.. That’s 3 years from now!! Mutual options are hardly “Unusual” as the headline would lead you to believe.

How in the Dickens was this ever given the green light??
What a tragedy......
4 episodes of Madge screaming and swearing his head off, players ignoring him, coaching assistants sitting stoney faced and offering zero, a CEO embarrassing himself and sad arse fans talking about how much they love the club after sitting in the rain and watching yet another flogging. It was Sylvania Waters...

Having said that, if they did one about this pre season and extending through to the end of 2025, theyd get some great content.

I mean …this whole discussion is an exercise in speculation ,,,who knows ? I’m making a point that no one could prove he is the source of the leak without the Journo dropping him in it ….which doesnt tend to happen,,,,

But sure …anything is possible….Normally NDA’s accompany a lump sum settlement … would Lee have got one I wonder ? Did he have a fixed term comtract for his position ?

It looked like Pascoe’s version of “enough rope.”

it’s just about clicks … no one cares about stories concerning say the sharks or the Storm …or even Brown at Parra have similar clauses in his deal ….
Can someone please tell me why in God’s name would anyone care about stories about us over any other team? Parramatta and Souths even Bulldogs have huge fan bases, bigger than ours. Why the hell would they care about articles about us?

If the media want more clicks then it’s Souths they should be targeting or even stories about Latrell alone would generate more click than us.

Read my reply. People like to laugh at us and feel better about their own backyard. People know far too much about this joint. We live in the media.

We get clicks & the media needs click bait to drive revenue/relevance.

Issue is people keep falling for it and the media keeps getting the clicks so why break something they doesn’t need fixing is their logic.

Managers have had a very lucrative time at our expense and are often the ones leaking the crap. It’s in their best interest financially for us not to be successful.

If you think about the % of cap that needs to be spent and the cattle we have had ALOT of players + managers have been getting overs.

It’s clear the club has closed down a heap of the leaks but they can’t control the managers.

It sucks but if we start consistently winning & Richo makes some bloody tough calls then alot of this stuff will soften but some Managers have ALOT of influence within the NRL rosters which just shouldn’t be the case.

They wouldn't write stories that don't generate a level of interest - good or bad and for WTs in recent times it's been mostly negative. Clearly they know which clubs fans are interested in and we are one of them.

I understand your point and I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. It may be right? I was responding to your main point, which was..

“it doesn’t sound like Lee to wait 12 months, when he could have done more damage releasing this info at 6 months.”

I was simply offering some doubt about your declaration of Lee’s innocence. Anyway, as you say it’s all speculation and also pretty meaningless in the scheme of things.

Do they have more fans ? I don’t know the answer …. I certainly couldnt see them selling out half a dozen games on their way to their third wooden spoon in a row …a team that’s won 14 of their last 80 games or so

Most other clubs are united and focussed on developing a winning team. Nothing to see there. While at WT, well I think Brooks put it well..”there’s always something happening “ 😂

Idk. I think if it were BS the club would have debunked it.

I've said it before & I'll say it again, I believe there is a concerted effort by the media to destroy the club. Yes they have praised some of the recent signings BUT now they are constantly digging into contract clauses?

It started a while back with Stefano, but then it was Bateman, Klemmer now Romey & Bulla!!
They have also brought up that scummy player manager Isaac Moses & his antics with our players over the years etc, how he tried to get Galvin released and how he may get Bulla on his books and basically suggesting Moses could gut our roster like he did in 2016/17.

The Murdoch Media also are co-owners of the NRL & in recent years WT have copped the rough end of the pineapple when it comes to refs with way more dodgy refereeing decisions than most if not all other clubs including some VERY controversial losses, especially the infamous loss against the Cowboys after the bell.

Is there a conspiratorial covert push to get rid of the WT as the NRL add at least 2 new teams? Sometimes I believe that is so, led by the media particularly the Murdoch Media.
Dumb
