Yeah, seems like a good operator. He'd be in a real hard place with this. He's a good fella. I'm sure he's as sick of this shit as anyone.
We really just need to change the structure to remove or limit the debenture holders. If the directorships we're democratic member votes, like a normal functioning club, you wouldn't be able to have directors act like this.I respect the effort a great deal but trying to force the Holman Barnes Group into accepting reason and changing feels like the wrong agenda. This group have shown time and time again they are dysfunctional and shouldn't be allowed to run a meat raffle much less an NRL club.
Why aren't we trying to get them to sell up and piss off? It feels a hiding to nothing trying to get a leopard to change its spots. If we are going to gather enough fan support to force their hand it should be to force them to put the club up for sale I feel.

got a few people to also sign this, but i fear the only real way for anything to happen is at the cash register,
Yeah, but I doubt they'll sell. Private ownership also has issues. In the past I would have agreed with you, hut I've changed a bit.I'm not sure I agree that it makes sense for members of Wests Ashfield to vote their board in who then nominate their delegates to the WT Board. It just feels like needless beauracracy. Better than it is now though I get that but I'd just rather bring entirely new ownership to the team. Happens all the time in US Sport. Just slam them til they sell up.

The panthers are a leagues clubs team. If we can replicate their model, it should put us in good sted

Yep and teams get uprooted and moved to another city at the whim of the new owner.I'm not sure I agree that it makes sense for members of Wests Ashfield to vote their board in who then nominate their delegates to the WT Board. ESL mainly but quite popular... Been a while since I've been on there tho
Just watching how it's played out in the NRL mate. Seen that a leagues clubs setup can be successful. Penrith, Roosters etc. They have a mix of funding from leagues clubs, but really strong private representation on the boards - what we are striving for. What made you change your tune?
I totally get your sentiment. It's tough some of my favourite memories are being at Leichardt watching Balmain with my dad. The sentimentality is tough to replace. We need to move on though. If we don't this generation and the next one after them won't be able to make memories of their own because there may not be anything left if it stays the way it is. Wests and Balmain were great and proud heritage clubs, for whatever reasons they needed to merge. Imo once that happened they no longer existed. All we have now is the Wests Tigers. Imo as soon as we let go of all the heritage stuff as a fan base we will finally unite as one group.Agreed but having followed the Maggie’s since 1961, I still have a deep affection for them. I don’t want them back in the NRL but I don’t want to see the brand put down either. Criticise individuals by all means. I’d feel the same for the Balmain side of the JV. Both clubs should be respected as part of our history but our future is WT.
Hey Joel shoot an email with a link to the 3 directors who have been excluded from the HBG boardroom, one of them has been leaking like a sieve to the media, I reckon within an hour Chammas and Hooper will be all over it.We’ve just passed 450 signatures!
Here are some comments from those who have signed the petition today:
The current debenture system is archaic and does not allow for open governance and transparency. It’s time for these fossils to move on to allow the HBG and the Wests Tigers to thrive. - Costas
After years of embarrassing results and 3 wooden spoons,I finally thought we were heading in the right direction with the appointment of Shane Richardson..once again the board has failed the clubs fans and members with its failure to comply with its 2023 review recommendations. As a paying member for over 10 years here is my vote of no confidence in the Holman Barnes Group. - Stephen
I am sick of personal ambitions and agendas of individuals, continuously putting well being of the football club last. Time for transparency. - Nicholas
