Dennis Burgess, Wests Magpies Chairman (shareholder of the Wests Tigers), said the Magpies fully endorsed the review’s recommendations because they will be key to the Wests Tigers future success.

Only way to make changes and have the likes of Romero and Burgess come out with clear cut statement in full support of the review and are going ahead with the recommendations in Full is to keep up what we are doing , pressure , plenty names on petition , I heard the organisers would love 10,000 signatures, let’s forge ahead and see how close we get .
We also need Balmain to have their directors to all sign a statement tells us there is no intention of splitting with wests and if there was a request from Kea NZ. Say so and say it’s been squashed and all sign it

Signed the petition. We really need to get the debenture voting aspect changed - and to be clear $100 or so dollars should not be able to buy such influence in the running of a club- either Wests Ashfield / HBG - no idea if whats left of Balmain has similar structure either. As an aside, does Wests Macarthur have similar structure? I'd also like somehow for the Balmain side to get some money (supporters / business) and get some increased stake in the JV- wasnt it supposed to be 30%, 30% Magpies and 40% HBG? Maybe if that balance returns things may stabilise along with the debenture holders influence being lessened.

Cancelling your membership doesn’t hurt HBG, but it hurts the football club.

The beef here is with HBG and their board, specifically the debenture holders who are above all, and a constitution that appears to not hold them accountable to anyone other than the 18 current debenture holders.

These cronies are able to influence the direction of the football club with two appointments to the board - one through HBG, and another through Wests Magpies who have four or five board members appointed from the HBG board. Both HBG and Magpies reps at WT are debenture holder members of HBG, and all four or five HBG appointed board members to Magpies are also debenture holders.

So with the current WT interim board consisting of just 4 members, there are two HBG debenture holder nuffies in a block once again, just as there has been for the past decade, directing the club poorly, and stifling progress.

Completely correct. As the WT board currently stands, of the four people, two are debenture holders who were never elected, (most likely) never had to pass any due diligence or skills matrix, and are not answerable to anyone at all. That, to me, is not a good situation for the Wests Tigers.

HBG is a registered club in NSW and as such are required to be not for profit as well as provide benefits to members, including, I believe voting rights to at least 25% of members.

From what I can understand, the debenture system limits the ability of members to vote effectively as the power is held with 18 people. Maybe they hold elections, but it's about as good as a Venezuelan election. It's all an illusion.

Yes an illness to one of the debenture holders has shifted the power a little in the debenture group.

Would think there are many courses they needed to complete to be a director of any club , would be curious to see if they have completed these Clubs NSW courses and also any the NSW gov want completed
