But he isn't being paid as an elite front rower. There's been half a dozen front rowers mentioned here who are reportedly at or above $1M. He is being paid a salary that would be consistent with a player a tier below that. If he is/isn't or will/won't reach that level can be debated but I don't think it is a ridiculous salary by any means.Exactly my point . He will be paid like a top 10 front rower but give top 20-30 output . Thats not to say he is crap , in fact I wish him all the best I hope im proven wrong (I hate death riding people who have done nothing to me ) . But yea it’s screams bust to me .
When you desperately need to fill a position and your only option is the marketplace ,combined with missing the top 2 or 3 options on the market , it spells trouble . Because now you’re paying elite money for the next tier down , maybe even the next tier down off that . So 2 tiers down .
I’m not saying Thompson can’t move up to the top 2 tiers , but yea it’s a huge risk .
Like when we paid 2 kiwi front rowers and over paid Reynolds . The dogs arnt that desperate , but yea .
I actually think Stefano won’t go well at the storm . Which is contrary to most people’s opinion I know and massively burning hot take .
I don’t think he’s mentally strong enough for that storm system . But once again , I’m not death riding him . I wish him well . I just think he will be on the bench by mid season , but it won’t be talked about because the storm will be rolling on with wins as usual .
We’ve got young and improving, be nice to have another old hard headYoung and improving or experienced head who would you like.
Agree let's hope we can find one in the next block of training before trials type of player like Tupouniua/Su'A would be outstanding but difficult to find. We’ve got young and improving, be nice to have another old hard head
Bird looks the most likely just wish he was bigger sam clone in a perfect world.Fainu has all the makings to be a clone of Olakau’atu or Elise Katoa, but it’s too early for him to be our senior edge player. I’d still put Bird on the other edge with Pole at lock. Easier on Bird’s body, and it plugs a hole where we need one plugged.
He wasn’t charged with the very serious charge of Neg driving occasioning injury. Or Neg driving occasioning GBH”. His lawyer did a great job dealing with police. Had either of these charges been applied he would be looking at a small jail sentence. I believe it was also his third charge of unlicensed driving. His 9 weeks suspension wreaks of Broncos heavyweight owners dictating to the Nrl. Disgraceful decision.Didn’t Mam get 9 weeks out and a $90,000 fine? The media have well and truly inflated the issue. That is a significant penalty and is more than what he should have got.
It was offences of driving with drugs in his system and negligent drive as I understand it? Possibly a driving unlicensed?
There is a distinction between driving under the influence of a drug and driving with drugs in your system.
Driving with drugs in your system means you could have consumed it a number of days prior (up to 10 days cannabis, 3-5 days cocaine) meaning you are not impaired by the drug and it has simply remained in your system.
Whereas, driving under the influence of a drug has far more significant consequences because you would have consumed the drug at a time proximate to the driving and would be impaired by it. This is far more serious and carries a potential gaol term compared to the other offence which carries a maximum legislative penalty of a fine and disqualification period.
There would have been no correlation between the drug offence and the negligent driving in Ezra’s case which is why he only received a fine from the Court.
850k is elite front rower money . Theres only 2 maybe 3 with backloading , who would be on 1 mil . Thats Hass ,AFB and Tapine . If you consider Tino a front rower than him as well .But he isn't being paid as an elite front rower. There's been half a dozen front rowers mentioned here who are reportedly at or above $1M. NadenApparently one of our outside backs has turned around for the better in saint, sinner and shoosh. Could anyone post it please
TIGERS BACKFLIP ON UNWANTED FLYER
Brent Naden has gone from the chopping block at the Wests Tigers to transforming himself to becoming one of the most impressive players before the Christmas break.
Naden was given the opportunity to join the likes of Jayden Sullivan and John Bateman to exit the Tigers however the outside back indicated he wanted to fight for his spot.

Despite the speculation, Naden has responded in a way which has left the Tigers impressed with the way he has handled himself since returning to pre-season training.
“He has come back with a great attitude,” Tigers boss Shane Richardson said. “He is a completely different player.”
He is now pushing for a starting wing spot. Naden is off-contract at the end of this year. He played just 17 games for the Tigers in the past two years.

New season clean slate happy with who has looked the best at training to be picked can motivate others to lift.Happy to hear Naden is stepping up in the pre-season. I still wouldn't have him start in round 1 though.
We can call him up if we get desperate.
