Yes, HBG were still going through the motions, albiet delayed. But I'm amazed at people that think this was the natural conclusion after all the destabiling events from the board.

We don't know what would have occurred if there was no petition or media pressure. There were no solid statements from HBG before the review, only concerning actions.

Unfortunately a great day in our history is being soured by a few on here

I wonder how many of these are ose friends with board members?
Michelle McDowell is a definite.
Has this process been confirmed as above board, with the HBG board having no direct influence on the shortlisting? I find it very odd and concerning that they feel the need to mention where the board members are from/live. It's totally irrelevant
Who is McDowell aligned with if this is the case , I hope not

Allied Express

I must say when I read AE I immediately thought Magpies... It just shows how mistrusting I have become of our management.
I'd love to think Allied Express have a real passion for our club and that's what I'll run with, but I must admit mistrust was my first thought

Why’s that ? Is allied a non reputable logistics company ?

I’m confident that a board of new faces will give the football operations the space it needs to succeed , honestl at the very least because they won’t know any better .
My only issue will be in 2-5 years when these people start to truely get the lay of the land , and whether they’ll be able to help themselves with the meddling .
The fedora is an example of this . Was probably ok early doors , but as he started to get longevity in his position , I noticed his hubris taking him to places he never should have gone .
Hopefully there will enough checks and balances to keep that from happening .

Are you questioning the integrity of the process ran by Elevte talent and Jill Daivies?
If they were hamstrung by ridiculous conditions for the independents, which is what drew out the recruitment so much, as has been rumoured once or twice, then yes sort of. Not so much their integrity, but if their recommendations were ignored and conditions put in place to restrict their freedom to their job as they see fit then yes this whole process was a sham.

The whole point of having independnts is that they are independent, and having no prior contact with anyone from Wests Tigers or HBG should have been a pre-requisite. With the exception of Barry as chairman.

They've sponsored the Tigers for years, have been wined and dining with board members for a long time no double. There's no possibly way she could be independent.

But don't get me wrong, all the independents bring some skills and success to the table. What does Burgess bring? Montgomery? Stapleton? The skills matrix must be applied to all. If Wests and Balmain can find intelligent and highly skilled people to add to the WT board, great. If not their positions should be filled by qualified independents until the heritage clubs get their act together.

Having one rep with experience in the southwest is fine. It should not have been a pre-requisite for all independents
I dunno mate . It kind of guarantees diversity . With Barry , and the existing HBG and Balmain reps , it’s obvious they’re inner city .
I get your point but I don’t see an issue .
My issue is the lack of football knowledge in the appointees . I’m hoping with Stapleton , Barry and supposedly burgess (LOL) , mixed in with Richo there’s enough there .

If the Board need to know something about footy they can ask their CEO. The problem pre-Richo.

What did you want them to say?

"We all hate each other, nothing is getting done becuase we despise each other so much"

Of course the video was fluff. What the video actually said was "We dont give a crap about what a small minority of the fans and members have to say, we will continue on the path we have planned for the last 12 months, and Carryanis can go and eat one"

I mean, we signed Richo to a 3 year deal. You really think he was gonna stick around if he wasnt getting support? We just signed our biggest shirt sponsor deal. We start the season off with the largest corporate backing we've ever had.

Richo was even smart enough to piss off a club sponsor who is now in ADMINISTRATION - at the time, the press was hounding the club that they had pissed off one of their long term loyal sponsors, who know doesnt have a pot to piss in. Smart move by Richo and the board.

And the HBG has finally pulled the pin on 2 blokes who were on boards of (and heavily influencing):

Western Suburbs Leagues Club Ltd
Wests Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club Ltd
Wests Magpies Pty Ltd
Wests Tigers Rugby League Football Pty Ltd

People keep talking about a board room "coup" - well, sometimes they are needed for the better! And I see this change in strategy at the owner level as a Good Thing.

And we start the season off with probably the best line up of players we have had in a decade or more... and the fans start arguing with themselves over the content of a report none of us have seen, none of us knows the content of,

The video wasnt a video which under normal circumstances which would have been needed. It was only produced to counter the jibber jabber being pushed here, on social media and via the press.

Will we ever know the truth? No.

The outcome of these actions are what is important.
I didn't ask for the video so I have no idea what I could have wanted them to say. But since you ask, I wouldn't have made the video.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.

I agree Richo wouldn't have stuck around but I never questioned that in the first place. I think he's done a great job and gets things done.

Who is saying it is a coup? Probably just a journalist, right?

However, the "jibber jabber" exists for a reason. It is typical of this club if, and it is an if, they got upset that fans were fed up. They've expected fans to eat crap year after year after year. When they've spoken out they've been told they're not real fans, by the chairman of all people. But, hey, wanna renew your membership? We got the spoon 3 years in a row. Fans are rightfully upset. We can't just accept because we're being told to accept it by the bosses, that everything is good and you've got nothing to worry about. We've heard it before and it has not become actions or produced good results. I agree with you - the outcomes are what matter. And rightfully, they wanted to know why there were delays in achieving the outcomes.

I think most can see that we're on the right path but at the same time Richo, (referring to the blazer brigade, complaining that BOF had to reapply for his role in a video/podcast and outing fake membership numbers), Garry Leo (Balmain should split), Rick Wayde, Andreachinno etc (complaining to fan groups and newspapers about their penalties) have all contributed to jibber jabber. Fans are going to respond to that.

So if Mark Bouris, Twiggy Forrest or Frank Lowy wanted to get involved they'd be excluded from the process because they've never lived in Campbelltown?? Location is largely irrelevant. Desired perhaps, but not essential.
Definitely not an essential; and it would be stupid to exclude someone of high quality based on a postcode. I doubt Barry O' Farrell lives in the catchment (maybe he does) but that is not stated. I expect location is more relevant in relation to local influence. Having it stated doesn't detract from their qualification, but to some it may be nice to know they are local, I personally don't care where they are from as long as they can do the job. I simply stated that it was one the criteria for consideration and probably the reason it was included (for some). I doubt that any of them meet all of the criteria, that is why the skills are board level not individual..
