Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don't get the Reuben Garrick fanfare. He is a very reliable if unspectacular winger, useful back up at fullback but pretty average centre.
His goal kicking is ordinary for a first choice kicker, typically sitting about 76% with only one season over 80%. Api has had a better percentage the last 2 years.
I don't see how he adds anything to our team. If we're going to spend up at centre I would not be looking at him at all.

I'm not advocating to sign Garrick but that bloke is a superb footballer. He'd start at fullback at a lot of clubs, he'd be our first choice centre and he's a great winger. He kicks at 76% because he kicks from everywhere... 50 metres out and they'll back him to take a shot. Wish we signed him years ago.

An earlier pick of Klem looked like he had added some muscle but going off the latest still looks light disappointing photos can be deceiving though.
Can Klemmer run faster or as fast as Sam F ? Right back row , looks like he has leaned up again but got muscle , just speed as he could break the line in that position you would think

He will never leave the Sea Eagles.

Yeah I do....
I really don't see a spot for both Twal and Seyfarth in our 17, If I had to choose - I'd probably pick Seyfarth (he's a little more versatile)
Lodge while a little dated, Would change up the dynamic of our Middle Rotation somewhat, Also brings a bit of mongrel which we don't have a lot of.

Dragons made sense, Has history with Flanagan - They're shit short on Middles and He's about played for most Sydney Clubs.
I'd have Lodge over Twal. Twal has been such a let down. Wish it wasn't the case because he seems like a good bloke.

WT can't rely on Api for this. He can only assist if needed. Last season we were already talking about resting Api for 10 minutes either side of half time. If he's not on the field someone else has to kick. Dunno maybe TDS is the ready-made replacement as some have suggested, but I don't think Doueihi has done enough to repair his deficiencies to claim a position in the 13 just to cover goal kicking. If TDS is it great, but we should look to recruit a good goal kicker if we don't really have alternatives.

Always thought Twal had some pace off the mark at times would meet the defensive line fairly quickly don't know about 2nd row though.

eems like you are not a tigers fan, seriously no one knows what Benji is gonna do with the team.
Stop being a hater. Benji is the greatest tigers player and will be our greatest coach
Up the tigers !!!
Haha it's so dumb that people can't differentiate between player and coach. Great player. Club legend. He is going to ruin his legacy by being a shit coach in a team that is toxic. Bulldogs didn't receive this hype before 2024

I'm seriously interested in your take on his coaching ability. I have asked several times for evidence that he can't and heard crickets.

I'm not won over by him but there is hard evidence to suggest that he does have a clue but had a side that was been unable to excute for 80 minutes.

The change in focus for this pre-season demonstrates learning, the recruitment demonstrates knoweldge of what is required and the one or two games where we put it all together against the sharks and raiders demonstrates that the players were able to execute what was being asked. there are plenty of other snippets that show he has a clue.

On the can't coach front 100% he stuffed up the entire lead up and approach to spoon bowl - but I expect that won't happen again. Some of his rotations were poor as well; but what examples are there that demonstrated that what he is coaching is below par?

I'm sure that Benji had a say in Hodgo as an assistant - but he isn't inexperienced and has broad exposure to some good systems. Would he have been my pick? Probably not. But how can you state that it won't end well before a ball is kicked.

So if Benji is such a shit coach - what are the hard facts that lead you to that conclusion. Not interested in opinion.
2 wooden spoons. Weak bench selections. Constantly picking players out of position or not dropping others who need to go. Playing an 18 year old without any breaks (even with a broken hand), lack of defensive game plan, more sin bins and lack of discipline than any other season, shitty press conferences praising extremely low standards, lack of accountability, being one of the boys rather than trying to actually be a coach figure. His coaching career is going to go exactly as his playing career went, flash for a little bit with all out attack, no defence, and a lot of inconsistency. If that is praiseworthy, then we'll remain near the bottom, unless someone carries him

I'm sticking by Benji at least for this season but when it's laid out like this there has certainly been some blunders
