Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

5/10 would be disappointing but probably buys Benji another few months. Anything less he should be in big trouble, anything more is a pass. How they are losing/winning also factors in
The losing you mentioned the ones where you are in it to the end really sting but when you cool down are much better than 20 plus down at half time and want to switch off in disgust, well let's brighten things up a bit hope we win lots of games by 30 plus all wests tigers supporters will be jumping up and down at the ground or cheering and dancing a soft shoe shuffle around the loungeroom.

First 7 games are the key. Playing most of the teams at our level..(Newcastle twice) desperately need the confidence to help us when we start playing against gun sides.. 5 out of 7 not only sets us up for this season but 2026 as well.. light at the end of the tunnel stuff.. 1 out of 7 and not only will all the guns " exercise their get out clauses", but alot of the gun juniors will jump ship as well'( probably heavily manager driven).
Important couple of months for the club. Richo has done his job.. it's up to the coaches and playing group now.
And if we go 3 out of 7 or 4 out of 7?

Horo and Mason went through our first 5 games. All winnable.

Basically, if we start worse than 5 from 10, Marshall will be under a heap of pressure to keep his job.
Strange to me that would happen because we're a brand new team. You'd think the truth of it would come in the middle or end of the year, a bit like Ivan's seasons with us. We built towards the end of his first year and got out of the spoon, started the next season real well and then fell away. Both accurate reflections of our level of talent. Any team can be good at the start of the season, it's the middle and end that really count.

I think people are happy to give him a shot with a decent roster and no excuses. If he does well then great he stays and if results aren’t there we move on from him. I doubt anyone in here wants benji as coach for the sake it .

Weird take.....
He had the best Roster we've had in almost a decade.

Last years roster lol. definitely no room then for the 6 new players we’ve brought in. Every one of them walk straight into the team.
No one was laughing about the roster. last off season. Brooks was gone, we finally had a halfback in Sezar. And what about that young gun Sullivan? Hindsight is 20/20.

Maybe if we fail this year, people will be like “We had no forward pack lol”

Oh sezar the saviour lol, yes your right we should have made grand final .

Mate your negativity has no limits. Sezer came from the Super League and Sullivan was a fringe first grader at a bottom club. Were you expecting a miracle? I don't expect you to respond because every time someone refutes your point you go missing in action.

It's almost like you're praying we don't climb off the bottom of the ladder. Why even support the club? You get no enjoyment out of it besides being able to say "I told you so".

Not missing, just tired of defending my position. Notice you didn’t jump on anyone else saying the same thing the last few pages.

Onitoni Larges Manly SG ball team got
whooped by Souths 9 tries to zip last
night in their trial. He played alright but
He was getting crunched everytime
that he dug into the line. In rugby union
backlines don't play as flat & the flyhalf could just sit in the pocket, not
in league though. Stoked we have latu
and Galvin & agree with your sentiment
Just watched that game earlier & south’s team looked very talented, big future for some of them boys.

The front rower Laifai that someone on here said we were going to sign was a standout in the manly pack. Going to have a huge future IMO, also noticed in an interview yesterday the reporter asked Siebold who are the young players to watch out for & he wasn’t mentioned. Maybe he just forgot or maybe he doesn’t think he’ll be there long term?

As for Large I agree he was only average, he sliced through his first run of the game for a line break & should have had a try assist. Looks like a brilliant athlete but not a natural ball player from what I’ve seen of him

I give it to Tucker, I give it to you. Do you want to support the club or not? I'm working as I browse the forum I haven't got the time to see every comment.

Is that what I said?
As you missed the point, let me spell it out for you....

He had a better Roster than the few coaches before him - And it wasn't an excuse for them...
Why is it an excuse for him?

Sezar didn't fill my head with enthusiasm when we signed him, but he did jag us some wins annoying that someone with his experience couldn't stay out of the sinbin. Sullivan didn't like the signing on the nose at dragons and stupid money but when your desperate it clouds judgement.

Gunners is right,
They were both highly touted signings here by plenty.

There was plenty getting hammered on here for predicting Sezer
(Who wasn't even that good in his NRL Prime) would be a bust coming back after 5 seasons abroad.
and that Bud had done nothing to hail the fanfare he was getting - except tear the wooden spooners apart once.

I didn't see any apologies when those naysayers were proven right.
