Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just watched that game earlier & south’s team looked very talented, big future for some of them boys.

The front rower Laifai that someone on here said we were going to sign was a standout in the manly pack. Going to have a huge future IMO, also noticed in an interview yesterday the reporter asked Siebold who are the young players to watch out for & he wasn’t mentioned. Maybe he just forgot or maybe he doesn’t think he’ll be there long term?

As for Large I agree he was only average, he sliced through his first run of the game for a line break & should have had a try assist. Looks like a brilliant athlete but not a natural ball player from what I’ve seen of him

Big boys Manly team Simone Laifai was really strong wasn't he. Don't know if he's locked down though...was contention about him moving forward. Not sure with relation to his contract status though...

Yeah, I loved Onitoni coming from a union background - I watched a lot of him & Makasini but I think we have the better 2 of the athletes, in a position that's easily transferable too...

Wait, you DIDNT know that showing a bunch of people calling you an insufferable douchebag on the internet is huge turn on for women?!

She must have been calling for a mop and bucket when she saw his near 50,000 posts of nothing on an online forum.
My greatest achievement is living in the heads of posters like you, while the only time i ever think of you is if I ever strain too hard on the toilet

The reason I was angry that Ivan left is because he was actually really good. Had he seen his contract out, we may not have needed all these spoons to affect change and set the correct course, allowing this club to turn around.
With a pretty run of the mill first grade squad Tucker he had us playing way above our weight. Only coach we ever had that taught us how to defend and grind out games. The start of the first season after his first preseason with us, we were the toughest Tigers team I remember. Cleary left once the offer came from Fletcher, no doubt because of Nathan but also he was smart enough to see the dysfunction at the top of the club, I reckon if he had stayed and stuck it out for another 2 seasons and developed some of our young guys coming through in his style of football we would have become an awesome team and a destination for players, but as is said often what happened, happened and we struggled to move on because Cleary could work fine with the guys he signed but they didn't suit Madge and stuffed the cap for him for a few years.

There’s no excuse. Getting the spoon in 24 was a disaster that should have his papers marked.
He’s going to need a very good start to keep his job. I hope he can do it because I like him. Having said that, we can’t keep him on as coach if the results are poor, just because of who he is.
Totally agree Tucker he has what he needs Richo has seen to that, the team isn't complete yet but is much more serviceable than last year's only the 2nd row and a centre to sort out. Imo if there isn't markedly improved consistent performances we need a new coach. I don't mean we win 4 more than last year, I mean we are in the grind every week with every team, obviously barring an injury crisis. Only real sticking point will be about how many players have signed to play under him, whether punting him will tear the dressing room apart. Iv got no doubt Richo will know what to do, he's been here before. I hope Benji can lead us to the promised land, it would make him an awesome Tigers folk hero. But I'm not 100 percent sold yet.

I agree with much of what you say Tuck, the only thing I can say is that a lot of the niggle and condescending comments toward forum members is that they have a far differing opinion or view how the team should play or recruitment should be done..
My personal take is that we are all different as human beings and our personallities differ, this is what makes us who we are...
On the other hand we can still remain respectful with whatever topic is discussed and have the dignity to respect others with differing views ..
I must say I have had plenty of critics on this forum.but I really dont care because I also have many good hearted and intelligent people on here that make this forum a very unique and great place to be...cheers mate...
We all want the same thing, we just try to get there in our minds through diffrent routes.

We have a decent roster now, still issues, but decent. If he can coach we should win at least 5/10, and that my line. 4/10 and the media will be all over us anyway, but I don’t reckon they’ll sack him mid season, and unless there’s a really good coach to walk in then there’s probably no point rushing. I’m hoping Benji wins more than five and turns out to be good.
Still luv ya Benj

Nah, you finding a living, breathing woman (allegedly) who can tolerate you for more than a minute is a far greater achievement.

…the only time i ever think of you is if I ever strain too hard on the toilet

And when you’re trying to impress your “GF” by showing her all the people on the internet who are being mean to you 😉

i often wonder ,if we never made a play for Nathan, would Penrith of made a play for Ivan. Things may have been different .
That’s a really interesting thought. On face value I’d say no, but don’t discount Ivan’s desire to coach Nathan, he probably would have left when he had the chance to coach him

Madge didn't have the support of management.

They were self-serving.

Imagine Madge and Richo... no one would mess with this weapon of a club.

It gives me hope GNR if you can get a GF so can I...
I like how it’s subtly shifted from the original point. People were very defensive of our chances in 2024 during the pre season. The forum was all in on Sezar, Sullivan and co and any contrarian opinion copped the pile on treatment. That’s a fact.

Sideshow Bob, 😁 that was the first thing that came to my mind too.
So is that who he’s talking about?
Where’s he been lately? Other than on the Simpsons trying to kill Bart?
Yea I used to think of him as the lead singer of Wolfmother...
Wolfmother, a damn awesome band and incredible live before they were famous. ...

Matt King, a powerful winger. I remember watching him on a few international matches and he seemed to just miss the line. IMHO not a good coach because he relied on his physical power to win that wing contest. Later when he moved to Center he did not do much at all.

Mate I can't believe the niggle that happens on here at times what was that old Kamahl quote, why are people so unkind, you see the amount of forum guest's vs the amount online members they won't join the forum scared of being crucified if they post something wrong.
The internet is just a gathering of minds ,,which is basically a cesspit of thoughts, He/She/Others that speak loudest think in some strange way they will be heard .Listening is a lost art , so is the art of conversation,
