Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Galvin isn’t costing us much unless he upgrades & he’s not playing for anybody else until 2027 so I don’t know what all the hand wringing is about before a ball is kicked in 2025

if he says in November he’s leaving he can play NSW Cup in 2026 and watch Latu play next to Luai for a year .

As for the eels , Ryles hasn’t made much of an impression on D Brown if he’s meeting with the Roosters this week .

It’s very simplistic to think a coach only knows the position he played. Most of them are students of the game.
Do you consider your self a supporter of this club? Cause from what I gather you hate the club and want it to loose!

I understand a lot of us have blind faith in a benji but isn’t that the point in having a team to support To get behind them no matter what.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what role he plays here in 2026 if he’s signed elsewhere. If he’s going to waste away in reserve grade, the club might as well release him, as the club he’s signed with would definitely seek an early release. I can’t see him playing reserve grade though. I think that’s just an emotional supporter response. I can see the club shifting their focus to Fainu though, assuming Fainu develops the way some are claiming he will.

How do you interpret me talking about how people think of coaches as me “hating this club”?. That’s a weird take away.

Just on Galvin its pretty easy to join the dots that Lachy is off to Parra. Dylan Brown may leave so that opens up the 6 spot and frees up the type of coin Lachy will probably want. His manager is the uncle of the newly appointed Eels captain. He grew up an Eels fan. We are hearing from Lachy the old “just focusing on footy and let my manager deal with that” rubbish. For me I am not sure if he leaves or if he stays but we can’t have him or his manager hold the club to ransom. We actually do have options if he opts out. One thing I do know is we have one of the smartest operators running the club and he will know pretty quickly what the go is. I do believe that Isaac Moses and Richo have a fairly decent relationship, certainly better than our previous blokes.
Unless Wests Tigers have another disastrous season in 2025, then any player heading to the Eels is a backwards move.
With an ageing and declining Roosters roster, players who head there are on a hiding to nothing.
The Bulldogs are no better.
When will people realise it’s not the be all and end all be heading to some of the special Sydney clubs who have as many negatives about them as what Wests Tigers do.

I'd be amazed if Dylan Brown, on his recent inconsistent form has anyone offer him more money than the inflated contract he currently has.

Eels aren’t that bad and do have some upside to them as underachievers. They aren’t that far away from being top 4 side and the age profile of key members of the team is positive (including new recruits).

Reality is we wouldn’t be talking about this if it wasn’t for the Media click baiting the Wests Tigers. The media is driving all this talk. No other player is getting this crap 2yrs before their contract ends & over half the league have contracts ending this and next year - big name players as well.

My view is we just enjoy watching him grow and play footy. The kid loves his footy just like most of us fans. If he leaves life moves on. It’s not the end of the world or the club.

I wouldn’t be. New TV Deal (salary cap will continue to increase) & New clubs = game breakers/playmakers (even inconsistent ones) will get paid and well. Very few game breakers of Browns skillset are in the league. Regardless where he lands he is going to get some good coin.

He’ll command 800k minimum.

I agree. Imagine being part of the next finals appearance with us having started in our Harold Matts, Imagine being a part of our next premiership coming from our pathways. Time will tell. I hope he stays but as I have said before Richo will be well and truly on top of this

That doesn’t mean anything mate ! The best attacking coach right now was our prop in 05 . The best attacking coach of all time was a prop - Tim Sheens .
In fact , and this is based on arbitrary nonsense and if anyone wants to debunk it - go for it , the most defensive coaches from my experience are usually backs .
It means something, cmon it really does.

Yea sure, Tim Sheens was a prop and became an attacking coach (not the best of all time IMHO and not the best right now. Bellamy/Bennett ahead of him and Haslier IMHO is a better attack coach.). But yea, he coached fast football and not a traditional Prop game.

Payten, he is a better attacking coach then I thought he would be. But he got help, including help from Thurston. He knew his weaknesses and got help to make up for them.

Parra coaches: Jason Ryles, Sam Moa, Nathan Cayless, Nathan Brown and some ex Rugby player...

Bar the Ex rugby dude, were talking all Props and jes Nathan Brown would be the best point scorer of that bunch.
Which tells me that Parra is basically going to muscle up. Not necessarily defense, but muscle and grunt up. This is an actual rebuild plan.

Bold Prediction: I could see Ryles even rejecting Galvin.

I don’t see Galvin going to Parra. He ended up at the Tigers because they screwed him over and dropped him in the first place. With how close he is with his family and if the Roosters sign Brown I think that just leaves the Dogs. This could all just be about getting a better deal from us. If he really enjoys playing with the team he might just stay.
