Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lachie can’t go anywhere or earn more $ at another club for another 2 seasons .

There’s no way Richo would release him before then .

Pascoe might have already released him last season .

The only way Isaac gets more commission in that next 2 years is if an upgrade happens .

Even if it’s only an extension until the end of 2027 it’s going to be a lot of money over the next 3 seasons .

That extra $ gives Lachie security in case ( touch wood ) a bad injury happens like what happened to that kid who went to the bulldogs , Oloapu .
Boggles my mind why you would turn down free money for that very reason. You are only one game, one run, one tackle away from losing it all. It’s why I can never understand when players drag out contract negotiations. Especially mid season.

Your post said more then most of the other bullshit people talk about on this thread mate. The people that mock you are probably the people that come on here talk about Asian rock fishing, kebab shops in Auburn or talk about some 8 year old playing club footy out the back of Campbeltown somewhere that's the next big thing.
Lol sorry we talked about fishing mate but to be fair there wasn't much happening in here at the time crickets in fact.

Not clear in their mind about staying and rolling the dice on the injury gamble.

The Bulldogs have too many quality edge forwards, they will not be able to fit them all in their top 17 or be able to give them all adequate game time, therefore some will be very unhappy and likely want out because of it.
When full strength Kikau is their first choice on the left edge, which leaves Preston and Tupouniua competing for the starting right edge spot, neither will be considered as their 13 as they have worked out a ball playing 13 suits them best, which will likely be Kurt Mann with Bailey Hayward as their number 14 and back up.
Whoever misses out on starting between Preston and Tupouniua will likely be their number 15.
This will leave Jaeman Salmon and the highly talented and emerging Logan Spinks both excess to their NRL requirements.
Salmon definitely won’t be happy playing NSW Cup at this stage of his career and his versatility would make him a decent recruit for us on a lower price contract.
The better target would be Logan Spinks who is contracted to the Bulldogs until the end of 2026. But if as expected he doesn’t see hardly any NRL and his form continues to prosper in 2025, he would be an ideal back row target as of November 2025 with the intention of trying to get him out of his contract early for 2026. I know it’s hard to tell if a Flegg star will become an NRL star, but my prediction is Logan Spinks has the body type and game to be a potential rep player before too long.

The pressure the ref must have been under to give a penalty, how close the game was in semifinal they can have it
Im still amazed he didnt, Simon clearly belted him in the head.
Big credit to JWH who took that massive shot and didnt complain.
Glad the game didnt end with a penalty shot at goal.
Would be interesting to see what would have been said though had that dope Heighington dived on the ball and we won.

Interesting LS 19yo, 190cm, 98kg, he could fill out to 105kg perfect size for modern day 2RF.

Mate I think at the time he was seeing stars his words wouldn't have made sense lol, didn't Rabs used to call him Hollywood Heighington.

He’s the full package, smart, tough, mobile, skilful etc
The Bulldogs know it and want to keep him long term as desperately as what we want to keep Galvin, but by them being greedy and stockpiling edge back rowers, it could be to their own detriment when wanting to retain a quality young player like Spinks.

Galvin isn’t costing us much unless he upgrades & he’s not playing for anybody else until 2027 so I don’t know what all the hand wringing is about before a ball is kicked in 2025

if he says in November he’s leaving he can play NSW Cup in 2026 and watch Latu play next to Luai for a year .

As for the eels , Ryles hasn’t made much of an impression on D Brown if he’s meeting with the Roosters this week .
No way, second row all the way fir Galvin if he jumps ship. Latu to 5/8, galvo can have a year in the scrum!

Galvin is 6 years away from any potential move to the back row, if it happens at all.
It’s not a position for anyone who is hesitant to play there.
Unless someone stands up and surprises throughout the 2025 season, we have next to nobody who will be challenging Seyfarth for his NRL right edge starting spot anytime soon, so we need to be looking at external options.

It’s just the ongoing fascination of trying to transition backs into the forwards. If it ain’t broke.
