I reckon not many on this forum would have said Jackson Hastings was a bad pickup from them. But he has underperformed and seemed to do better here (or at least, better then Brooks). .. Otherwise they have got a bunch of Halves that are turning half average.

Now that oppositions can read his plays Hastings also is not fast enough to add a string to his bow, Sheens was smart enough to see this now the knights are stuck with him, the strain it must be putting on their salary cap would be felt.

Hey Buttface, I'll tell you how good Mick Neil was. In 1989 Balmain paid out a Motza to bring highly fancied Great Britain five eighth, Shaun Edwards out to partner Gary Freeman in the halves. Shaun Edwards went on to enjoy a glittering career, winning the Man Of Steel award, representing Great Britain on 36 occasions including 14 appearances as captain. He also had an OBE bestowed upon him. However in the 1989 Grand Final Shaun Edwards was relegated to the reserves bench....because 'Ginger Megs' was preferred as five eighth.

Relax champ. It's an opinions forum. I thought Twal Improved his running game in 2024 yes, but to be honest if we want to be a serious team, neither he or Seyfarth should be in the top 17.

By the way, Twal made 7 more tackle breaks in 5 fewer games and average more running metres, if you want to go off stats.

Fair comments that you make but with the Twal vs Seyfarth argument people are comparing a middle player to an edge player.

Yes Seyfarth has played both positions but I think we are looking at Seyfarth as being an edge player because unless we suddenly buy someone to cover that right side second row spot or someone has really impressed in the pre-season like Galvin did last year, we are stuck with Seyfarth playing that position or at the very least as depth for that position.

As you say, this is an opinions forum and my opinion is that this is a make or break year for Seyfarth and my opinion is that if given the opportunity he will acquit himself quite well.

Nobody loves seeing all out attacking rugby league as much as I do, but those who love to criticise Seyfarth and/or Twal obviously don’t appreciate their extreme fitness levels and endurance, don’t appreciate the one percenters they both often demonstrate off the ball and don’t appreciate their reliable defensive qualities.
I agree that it would nice to have one or two more attacking wrecking balls in our team, but keep in mind most of these types of players do not play long minutes and are generally not as reliable defenders as the likes of Seyfarth and Twal.
Players like these two are required to ensure a good balance of players who excel in attack and those who are workers and offer more reliability when defending.

Yea, I don't know if Sheens was smart enough to see this or wedded to LB... But it was right to punt him.

It was also why I was nervous about us signing Sezer. In hindsight, we took a huge gamble on Sullivan and the Fainu's and that was the real cap ruining move. Total panic signings.


I really wish we would just be a stack more selective. I don't care if it's overs... Sign people that at least take the field.

Is this Galvin as well? Galvin is also not very quick, although he’s not as slow as Hastings. I do worry about Galvin with his tall, skinny body and below average pace.
