Yep should be nothing. They need a forward. All sweet
hes solid but already expensive at 750 or so.......first issue is who picks up his increased $$ contract next 2 years(which hes definitely not worth)?
As we will be short a forward too,we need to can pick up a really good backrower for THIS year, and May post court case which wld make sense of the Klemmer release and be beneficial for the team
Dont just give up on 2025 before a ball has been kicked Richo

Wel pay nothing. Klemmer has already been paid 1/4 of his 700k os so. Dragons would pay 500k for him. Next year he only has a contract if he played 14 games this year. Which he won't. So we should be salary cap free on the money front.

Isn't Taylan May a back?

That would mean we need to pick up a prop to replace Klem + a 2rf or two... Along with Taylan May upgrading people in our back row...

Money Ball

Q - Were Bateman an Paps worth the contracts???

A - Not at all

Freeing up them has given us the option to sign Better players on the right $$$

Great work by the Tigers Management
Just reading your post I had a vision of a kid sitting in front of a Christmas tree waiting to open his present with his old push bike for sale at the front gate
My view is I don’t think there’s any thing under the Xmas tree waiting

Great management would have been getting something in return
Getting rid of contracts not worth the $$ and getting rid of players who don't want to be here is good enough of an upgrade.

Just because there is an opportunity to let go of a player doesn't mean the opportunity to sign someone else will automatically be there. I'm happy for the Management to front load contracts, upgrade Juniors until the right player comes along, which is what we did by getting May and Bird to an extent.

I would agree with u about upgrading the juniors if any of them were any good , let’s face it we have a very limited number of kids that are any good

According to Sheens 2 seasons ago we had a stack of talented juniors coming through, well what happened to them all they turned out to be fool's gold, just backs up the proof that the amount that actually kick on to 1st grade is small.

To be fair, 3 are in the run on side to play the eels tonight, 3 coming off the bench and at least one is out injured.

Lol you're not related Tim are you, Mason, Galvan, TDS, Sukkar, Kit, Bula out injured and actually came from another club young, only consider Galvan and Bula to go onto long careers the rest may have a chance but not proven yet but the way Sheens was talking the list was as long as your arm.

Everyone seems happy to be getting rid of these big contracts for these guys.
One thing that most are overlooking though is who is going to mentor and bring the new guys through, providing experience in all things preparation and professionalism off the field?

This off season we have lost 756 games worth of top grade experience, with 37 pre seasons worth of preparation, 15 SOO apperances, 57 Internationals, 35 finals appearances including 7 grand finals and 2 premierships, out of our starting pack.

Our remaining forwards (Api, Twal, May, Hunt, Seyfarth, Pole and Fainu) combined - are a pale comparison to these 4 blokes we have lost in terms of experience. Yes we were shit the past 2 years but I think most would agree that Pole, Seyfarth and Fainu have all improved and that is in no small part due to the influence of the experienced guys in day to day preparation - both at training and on game days, eating correctly, mentally adjusting to professionalism and just in general living within the public eye. These guys are still a work in progress and yes we have brought some experience in with hunt and May, but they only have 130 games between them as well.

Our senior mentors are Api and Twal. Api speaks for himself but Alex is only really experienced in club land prep and having experienced 0 Finals, 0 Origin and a couple of Tests for Lebanon in a world cup, he hasnt got much big game knowledge to impart either. Our coaching staff wont be much help either except probably Heighno and Benji to some degree.

So while yes, its a positive to have all this money and under performing stars off the books, what we have lost off the field could prove very costly indeed. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Nothing to do with Jahream, rather Sione and Luke along with the 5 others. Whether or not they are poor, good or potentially great is up for debate, but the numbers are simply factual.
