That Molo situation seems an absolute bun fight that won’t be sorted out anytime soon …hopefully someone else wants Klemmer, because he won’t be much good to the Tigers in the meantime
Klemmer would be a back up maybe but if May or Hunt got hurt in game 1 and we’re out for touch wood it never happens but 8 or 10 weeks he comes straight back in to the top team , we don’t have another better , the young guys are not ready yet

$700k is a lot to pay a backup…there is Pole, Twal and Sione all seem to be ahead of him as well as the other two you have mentioned
so what’s your thoughts if they manage to move him on quicker ?

he also could be disgruntled…

I was looking at the stats between Molo and Klemmer.

Molo is "slightly" the better player. There isn't much in it at all.

What the stat's don't show is Molo now won't take the field for the Dragons. Shane Flannagan can't manage him, I wouldn't put him under Benji or any of our coaches.

It doesn't matter.

That's how contracts work. We have paid Klemmer 700k.

About 400k of that is sunk cost, were going to end up paying the bulk of that contract if Klemmer stays or leaves.

Hence, in my view Klemmer is worth keeping. He isn't our best Prop, but he is in our top 4 and one injury, we would really miss him. Plus by having him at training he improves our squad.

Ofcourse if Payne Haas/AFB/whomever knocks down our door, sure. Yet no one seems to be knocking and good props are in short supply.

Can't get my head around this one.

Club has advanced money for him to build his house and he won't train or play for them.

What the hell has happened in the mean time to bring this about?
Yea, I really don't get this either.

I mean imagine, you are about to start a family. You buy a 1.2m house in Sydney and the club helps foot a 200k deplosit or similar...

I can only think:

Molo is happy to screw the dragons, pretend to be ill and know he won't take the field/get injured.

or

Really got shaken up. Motivation is weird. Running against people like Payne Haas is near suicidal.

Smart people would have read about Jarryd McCracken and Alex McKinnon.. might only be 1% of the time you get seriously disabled, but that's a huge risk. Plus you get some real injuries.... It's likely Molo's second last or last contract, I suspect he is being greedy and going why take the risk.

well… apparently he is leaving when Molo can sort himself out… he is part of the past for the Tigers …not the future

He may want out as he has a clause of 14 games and maybe they gave him the heads up he won’t make it , but I feel he is ahead of Sione and as good as Twall , $ 700 is a lot but we are already down a back rower I think so hopefully Richo has something in mind or someone on the quiet ready to come over to tigers , but it would need to be a very strong running back rower for the go forward

The Molo thing seems a big mess and may take a long time to sort out , I would say Molo needs to find a new club that is willing to pay the dragons back which means they are again paying him up front and due to what’s taken place I can’t see it , the nrl will not allow them to sign Klemmer and go over the cap as the money has already been spent so to speak, that’s why I said Klemmer should be picked in our team if he is ready to go not sit on the side line or reserves at $ 700 k if he is hear you use him

I think it’s all on ST.George,
Paying someone early before the work is done no matter what industry we are talking about here is risky,
Gees when I was younger and working I would have loved my company to pay me months in advance so I could have placed it onto my mortgage (imagine the amount saved on interest)
It’s like another way of cheating the salary cap.

He is exactly right.
Benji and Richo have acted like arseholes here if all these reports are true.
Is it just us that do it though Tuck, just seems if there is a knife to stick into the tigers it will be done, there is an opportunity for Klem to pick up an extra year at another club he might be happy with that.
