It doesn't matter.

That's how contracts work. We have paid Klemmer 700k.

About 400k of that is sunk cost, were going to end up paying the bulk of that contract if Klemmer stays or leaves.

Hence, in my view Klemmer is worth keeping. He isn't our best Prop, but he is in our top 4 and one injury, we would really miss him. Plus by having him at training he improves our squad.

Ofcourse if Payne Haas/AFB/whomever knocks down our door, sure. Yet no one seems to be knocking and good props are in short supply.
Except we're in a situation where if he plays first grade for us this year we're stuck with him and a hefty salary next season as well. It's called cutting your losses

Exactly; around the first time we heard of the St George deal being sorted out.
Who else of note from our starting forward pack last year was in that trial?
He was already demoted then and there.
Thats one way to look at it. How do you know he wasnt short of a gallop? Maybe he was there to lead the pack?

Bellamy doesnt treat guys that play for him like this.
Bateman reckons they barely spoke to him. Klemmer is being ostracised from the group for no reason other than forcing him to go. Its shades of Farah being put in reserve grade.
Klemmer and his manager are at fault for having that clause in his contract then performing poorly, club would be crazy to keep him and play him this year to be stuck with him again next year

Mate I reckon there are clubs that would have played him 13 games and just maximise the value to the club, then theyd banish him to ron Massey. Telling him early, if that's true, is quite good if them in some ways.

Agree on the media finding out being a real annoying aspect of this, yet again. Probably leaked by manager though and Chammas has an axe to grind with us for some reason.
Chammis had Sheens and others that fed him info. They are now all gone and he's not happy he's been cut off

Klemmer is not at fault , the clause is for this year so he hasn’t played poorly yet , it is 13 or 14 start this year and he stays next year , the club are trying to not use him so he can’t get 2026 extension due to costs , but to say it’s his fault is harsh , he was our best forward last year with Pole and Sam F , he had very little help from that cat Steph , now he has an opportunity to start with May which is 100 times better than last year , then Pole and Hunt come on , sound like a very strong winning combo that’s why he is being treated poorly , he probably plays very well this year due to the assistance from the new guys

Farah was a legend of the club and was still playing according to his pay packet. Completely different scenario.
Its not different.
The coach wanted him out so employed bully boy tactics to force his hand.
In this situation, the club want Klemmers money for next year. That could have been handled better than alledgedly telling him that we will purposefully not let you hit your trigger amount of games. Especially when the current coach agreed to that clause.

Klemmer hasnt played poorly. He was our best forward in 23 and even tough the impact was lacking, he was still providing in 24.
Maybe having a completely useless coach had more to do with it.

Probably not...moreso definitely not. However we seem to be such amatures at it we balls it up and the media find out.
Nah disagree . Chammas has a remit to deliver content per week. And he’s rehashing old news, fed to him by Klemmers manager , who knows full well klemmer is committed to the dragons . There’s no news about at the moment and this is muck raking.
Klemmers manager has fed this , because he’s negotiated his client into a corner , where’s he’s committed to the dragons and as such isn’t training with the main team.
For reference this happens in football all the time when a player commits to another club in their final year. They get banished to train with the reserves or by themselves .
His manager and the dragons ballsed this up. Not the tigers

Has he signed with them?

Wasnt Klem named for the first trial and then removed?
Yea exactly . The dragons asked the tigers to pull him. Which they did . They have gotten greedy with molo , who was supposed to just walk to whichever club wanted him , the rumour is Souths , but now they want coin , when they’d already negotiated for Klemmer. It’s amateur hour and typical flanno bullshit .

Has he signed with them?
He’s committed to them . They can’t register the contract until molo is released , which is why they went to the nrl asking for the exemption .
This shit was sorted , hence why they asked for Klemmer to be stood down .
I wouldn’t train Klemmer with the main team either . He’s a dragons player , keeping his fitness up whilst he waits for his transfer .

Right so nothing is organised at all.
Are they taking him full freight?…that’s rhetorical btw

Yep has he signed with the dragons cause if he has he should be training with them just not playing for them
Nah he hasn’t . The contract can’t get registered by the nrl , because of roster spots . So Molo has to go . Until then we are legally obligated to train and pay klemmer .
But like I said , he’s a dragons player wrapped in cotton wool waiting to go to the gong , using his old teams facilities in the mean time .
The guy was told a long time ago that he’s down the pecking order and might not get to his 14 games .its not mistreatment to tap a bloke on the shoulder and say “your down the food chain mate , if you can get a couple of years take it”
