OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Luai & Gal have waisted a whole pre-season of "gelling" if that game was any indication of what they learnt from each other?
If Gal insists on having ball in hand, make him the half. But the spoon it out to Luai to be creative. Galvin is not very creative IMO. Just likes running, usually across field, crabbing, and crowding the outside backs. Lacks straightening the attack and off loading to support or cutout passes.
Opp. coaches would have worked him out now and have that base covered. Second year syndrome?
I know---------- "he is only 19".
Up to the coaches and Luai to sort him out, quick time!
Ok so Luai joined pretty much at Christmas and the team was back at it at early January. Gets injured in our camp that was probably late January then trials.
How much time have they had together?
I estimate about 3 weeks; is that a pre-season?

There was 2 points on offer whether its round 1 or round 24. The 3 time wooden spooners and a millionth time finishes at 9th can not afford to let winnable games go, that's why there's so much noise fella. When the final round comes and we are 2 points from making the 8 image the noise that will make.

The season has started, it’s no longer the trials. Alleged pro footballers and 'time to gel' dont cut the mustard. I can smell the excuses of handicapped melancholy a mile away.
A new halves combination is never gonna be perfect from day one give it a break -(he also played in a side that missed 40+ tackles which doesn’t help either)start to worry by round six if they’re paying poorly,.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Galvin is an old-fashioned ball-hog. He simply does not have any playmaking ability at all. He would be better off being picked in the Centres this week with Latu to start alongside Luai.

That’s absolutely insane that you think like that ….. it’s round 1 . It’s a long season if you’re this worked up this early
Its insane to be cranky we threw away two points?
We had everything going for us, we had the game and blew it

But yeh relax, theres always next week, next month ...next year....its just the same shit UNTIL we see otherwise consistently, which hasnt happened in over a decade

I'll relax when I see it

So we paid Luai $1.2M to play second fiddle? Galvin needs to stay in his lane. He is predictable and a hog. I am kinda pissed off with Luai, he should have taken on the responsibility.
Maybe it was planned as someone alluded to. Surely Benj and Laui will play things differently next week. Geez I hope so anyway

Mate you wont be relaxing for a while. Our first game , new talent , Campbelltown home game , all the hype, we couldnt take care of the knights who were very ordinary. Yep has a feel of last year about it. I hope Im wrong. I now say to myself i hope they are just competitive in all games and thats just after 1 round.

Agree about Latu asking for a release. We will know what’s happening by this time next year at the latest.

If Galvin re-signs Latu is out. If Galvin signs elsewhere post 1 Nov 2025 we should trade him for a good player to release him early the club who signed him.

What is better for our club? Galvin or Latu plus $250k of cap space?
Latu needs to put some good tape together before he has any leverage to think about asking for a release.

I have always thought Galvin could end up at 7 this year.

Put most other clubs in that game and Newie loses.
Wow, Harsh reality check round 1. 2025 looking a little scary.

Look The warriors (if they don't turn up), Roosters, and Cowboys.. based of round 1 performance would get done vs Newcastle.

Yea, agreed. Everyone else I can see beating Newcastle.

The other reality check, Fletcher Sharpe totally outclassed Galvin that game. Not saying Galvin isn't good, but he isn't a game changer.

??? It was 2 days ago ! Of course we were all angry . Actually I wasn’t angry . I was frustrated , and left that game with an inkling that we will co Pete this year .
But like I said it’s going to be a long year if you lose your shit every time we lose , when at best we are predicted for 8th which means 12 losses in a year statistically .
Theres going to be worse to come then that one my friend . And we still might have a successful year .

I don't think it's a simple as it just being a loss though, it's the team we played and the location we played them, that contributes to the angst. These are the games you have to win to move up the ladder. If we lost to a genuinely good team people wouldn't be angry. To achieve 12 losses like you say, we can't have them at home against middle of the road teams.

Don't know how you couldn't be irritated we lost that. Knights were bad and we were up by 8 points at half time. Not to say there weren't positive signs, I think there was, but 2 points don't come easily in this comp. The guy seems to think any criticism or negative feelings foward the team/individual player performances is "wrist slitting", or whatever. Its rubbish

Agreed, but not Half if he wants the ball like that.
In fact, right on Tiger stripes. Glad to hear some critique of Galvin.

Lock, sure. Center as long as he learns to offload to Turuva or Skelton....

If your a ball hog, you do not get to play halfback or 5/8! Your job is to gague:
Where can my team score

Not

Where can I score

Yes we should expect this from a junior player coming through, but it's still a sign that Galvin has a lot of learning to go.

Most of those listed aren't better players, they're just in better teams. Put Luke Garner in a non-top 8 team and his performance reverts to what it was with us plus natural improvement.

Ditto Daine Laurie. Put him in the Dragons and he struggles.
Exactly
It’s a lot easier to look above average in a top team,
Which worries me about all the talk going on about Taylan May PLEASE remember you have only seen him play for the Panthers.

I just get ambivalent once our seasons done by May
