Would be amazed if a 28 yr old who has played over 20 games of nrl for the last 6 years would give up an nrl contract for 25 and 26 in exchange for a nsw cup contract.

I would be more then happy to have in our top 30. In reality If he wa here he goes straight onto the bench at least for Sione and probably is better option the Pole starting

Lawrie isn't that different to Klemmer in output.
We are short a middle so if he's cheaper i can accept this. 1

It would be and would have to be linked to him deferring a lot of cash to a later year because he's signed with St Geogre until end of 2026.

The Dragons website listed him as having a rib cartilage injury and that's why he missed round 1. We'll see.

Hope we can get a positive result with the Olam retirement decision but what about May's court appearance tomorrow?

You can hope, but you can't always count on it being over, done and dusted one way or the other tomorrow.

These court matter can drag on and on, not to mention the NRL dragging their heals when it comes to a decision about his future, then you have the question about his fitness and readiness to play.

Some people have May being announced in the the run on side Tuesday afternoon. 🤣

Ineffective tackles are when an offload in conceded. So you've made the tackle but you were ineffective in halting the play.
Missed tackles are when are tackle is broken.
Additionally, Depending on the media company (most do it) missed tackles/tackle breaks are also recorded when there is a clean linebreak. The old it's not a missed tackles if you don't touch them quote is not true. If someone makes a linebreak where you are meant to be a missed tackle and tackle break is typically recorded.

I thought the same with the offloads / conceeded but the numbers don’t match up on both sides.
For instance in our game NRL.com stats have Offloads 16 us, 11 Knights but ineffective tackles are 22 us, 28 Knights. That’s 11 offloads conceded unaccounted for if it is just that.
Has to be something else.

3 spoons in a row and losing a game where the other team was atrocious & we had plenty of quality field positioning is hardly expecting a top 4 side day 1.

The club all pre season has belted out Luai and over the 2 days prior talked about never giving up and being in sync.

Luai took a back seat, whilst Galvin kept playing his side and doing the same thing over and over - we had zero shape. We didn’t look in sync and offered nothing in attack.

Mason tries hard but he shouldn’t be in the NRL as a fullback, I like him, he has something when he runs. He looks lost at fullback, he makes errors every game, his positioning is ordinary and defensively has zero chance in broken play he totally mis reads things, he backs offs & arm grabs. Teams have found him out. Any pressure under a bomb and it’s more than a 50/50 play. Attack wise he isn’t a ball player he is a runner. Fullback isn’t his nrl position. A bench utility where he defends on the line or can be used as a runner is his role.

Benji picked Mason ahead of Staines or Turuva at the back which shouldn’t have happened. So that’s more an issue on Benji rather than Mason

Like picking Hope to start. Hope tried but was found out after 17mins. It cost us an attacking chance and momentum. That’s on Benji.

Look I get the criticism of Mason,

If he was our full time fullback.

Mason is our under-study. The guy who plays Macbeth when the real actor is sick with food poisoning.

I guess the question, why not Turuva, Staines or even Toa?
The answer:
Turuva has just returned from injury and putting him on the wing makes sense.
Staines and Toa... Haven't put their hands up.
Naden did, he worked hard and found form. I have been waiting for Staines to break into this squad and show that form from Penrith that encouraged us to pick him..

Staines hasn't lived up to his potential at all.
