Sorry Demps, my comments were solely footy.I think there's four important things to note...
- Taylans alleged crimes are very serious. It isn't his first offence either, he's been in trouble a few times before. (Cracked some bloke at the pub, anyone remember that? There was footage.)
- We are a family focused/friendly club and this goes against what we stand for....
- character aside, he's a fantastic player and better than what we have. He will strengthen our team immensely.
- the case was dismissed.... guilty or not, I'm sure people will have their thoughts, but today, he walks free of any alleged crimes.
It's definitely something that fans, of not just our club but the greater NRL community will be divided on. I can't see many punters "liking" him. He has A LOT of work to put in to clean up his image.
We're a strong chance to sign him, i suppose.
Could always end up at somewhere like Parra also with his cousin Jake Tago?
Quick search there isn't many players in the NRL right now with such serious crimes against their names, other than;
Matt Lodge (NY incident)
Jack De Belin
And Addin Fonua Blake (DV charges, some years ago)
This type of character doesn't last long in the game.
Taylans out and out last chance it'd seem, otherwise it's back to tiktok and pushing his brand that won't be supported.
But absolutely with you.
If he doesn't work on himself, he won't last wherever he ends up. Hopefully being with big bro, who (appears to) have a better head on his shoulders would help.
