Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Who has he let walk that has ever made an impact on an NRL game and still would? I count Papalii and...that's it.

Large is no sure thing. In the few SG Ball games I saw he showed plenty of talent but very, very little physicality.
Wake up it’s not the quality of the players he has let walk , it’s the fact he has done so with no replacement coming in or a swap coming our way , take the Richo glasses off and see what plenty off others see
Exactly. We let them go to have a crack at Galvin.
i don’t believe that for a moment, next year we have heaps of players of contract so money will not be a issue

There’s no way Richo doesn’t have the smarts to tell Galvin he’s here seeing his contract out and that’s exactly what will happen.
Sign elsewhere or not, he’s here for 2 years and will be selected as Benji sees fit.
Releasing him early just sends a signal that regardless of your contracts, any manager any time can bully your player out of his contract.. won’t happen on Richos watch.
And if his form goes off, he’ll play reserve grade .
I’m at the point I really don’t care if he stays or goes. But either way, he’ll be here until end of season 2026.
His choice is simple.head down and become the king of campbeltown or float around for 2 years while Benji and Richo get on with it .
Or don’t .
It’s that simple
100% agree on this front.

It's not like we are paying him massive money this year and next anyway.

Latu can join the halves, and Galvin plays lock or reserves. Don't put development into someone that doesn't want to commit IMO

That is if Latu doesn't sign a better contract himself. He too will be receiving offers. I mean. Then we would know its about money and not loyalty. Cause Latu's brothers nor mom won't care where the money comes from. Family first.

Just wondering what our cap situation will be if Olam gets medically retired say this week and Klem ends up at Saints as widely reported in regards to roster spots and dollars in the cap.
There was an article a few weeks ago when the Klemmer news first dropped. It mentioned that if Klemmer left we would have more than $1million in cap space for 2026.

Then an article the other day mentioned that if Olam was to get medically retired it would free up $400k this season and an extra 600k next season.

That would suggest that we would have around $1.6million for 2026 and at a minimum 400k for this season (probably around 900k if you include Klemmer and any current space, but no mention if we are paying any part of his salary this year?).

Essentially
2025: Between 400k-900k
2026: 1.6million

What you have only seen these errors in his game and never any positive moves to set up try’s for teammates.
Give him time,
It’s not his fault how much he gets paid, we were after a half and he was available.
He doesn't lead any statistics in NRL or even close to it. Tries, try assists, etc. He's done all he has in a great penrith system picking his moments when on the front foot. On the back foot, which he contributed to on the weekend, he failed in the crunch moments. I'm prepared to say I'd prefer to have Luke Brooks right now who can actually win a game as opposed to luai who is simply not a match winner

I can only remember 3 games brooks won for us

I saw an article on Fox sports today where Isaac Moses said he will be taking Galvin to market on 1 November.

That being the case, Galvin may well sign elsewhere for 2027. If he does, I wouldn’t be letting him go for nothing, but I would prefer to swap him for a player we need for the 2026 season as opposed to making him play reserve grade out of spite.

If I take off my Richo glasses, I'll become short-sighted and won't be able to see the bigger picture.

Wish that were true
Ipap..Bateman...just walked away at their managers whim.Under Richos watch.
Galvin is on peanuts this year and next..if he signs elsewhere Nov 1........Im inclined to draw a line in the sand to those avoricious player managers and make him play out 2026.
Or ..give us a player in return
Works both ways
Do you think it suited us though to get off the Bateman and Ipap contracts?

Richardson has said he will see out his contract.
