Galvin given a rest as the club tries to keep him at Concord with a fresh deal. - SMH piece.

I guess anything is possible but parra won’t be good for a while - he wanted to leave tigers last year after a few losses so it makes no sense he’d want to go back into a situation like that.

Yeah ..gotta agree …don’t see him going to Parra …said the same yesterday ..people said money ..but there are other options with plenty of money as well.,

The way the hype around him is growing all the bids for his signature will probably start somewhere around the 1mil mark anyway, it will be between us and a team with a sound roster and coach.
Our advantage may be if by the time our offer is presented we win more than we lose, look how happy he was last game with his teammates don't under estimate the urge to play on with his mates will have on him.

Hopefully Galvin at the very least will be transparent if he has no future intentions here . It's not like he he needs us to pump up his worth the media have already done that for him.
My understanding is that he comes from a good family and I don’t think he’ll mess the club around. What happens in the media is very different to what happens behind the scenes.

My guess is that he’ll stay and he’ll want to play with Da Silva and other players coming through.

Hope you are right

Seeing what Dylan Brown got probably got him thinking...
And the hole Brown will leave, closer to home, big bucks and Moses beside him. I’d say Parra would be favourites unless we make the 8, that might convince him to stay with us and win the comp in 26 !.

The only thing that I think will see him re-sign before November 1 is a Brown type deal, which we obviously won’t offer. At worst he wants out yesterday. At best he wants to know his market value. I honestly couldn’t care less either way. I’ll never get emotionally invested in a long drawn out re-signing saga again after losing Tedesco..

We don't have to make the eight to keep him, but we have to be competing for it at least until the last 1 or 2 rounds. If he thinks we're not far off he'll probably extend.

Big question is how to frame the offer.
He’s currently on 250, next year due to go to 350. Now be we all know that’s not going to happen so do we reframe our offer to 500k next year, 750 in 27 and a Mill in 28 or is someone going to gazump us at that.
Surely we don’t go a crazy figure and therein lies the problem. The old lion Gould is laying in the long grass and will stone the fire with him. Or did go all in and say $1m in 26, 1.1 in 27, 1.2 in 28 and 1.3 in 29.
And what if he doesn’t develop like we think. Another financial disaster like Brooks ! Remember, we been here before.
I don’t know the correct answer but look forward to forum feedback.

Exact opposite.

1m next year or even 1.5 if possible. Front load any long term contract so that we free up cap in 2027.
We have a decent spine in Api, Luai, Galvin and Bula. Lock away more cap now. I expect 2026 we should be close to breaking the top 8 and it is then that we are going to want to be doing some serious upgrades.

Just a pro vs con
Pro:
Friends
Familiar team
Has the position he wants.

Con:
Unprofessional training for last 2x years.
Greedy agent who will push for more money.
3 spoons.

After typing that out, I think we can tell what will happen. If we don't win 50% of our next 5 games, 100% Galvin will leave.

26?
We’ll play finals this year as long as injuries are kind.

I have only one question mark on this thinking. How much has changed after the multiple release requests and rejected extension last season?

If you think about it, once you are prepared to take the steps to walk out, is it that easy to change your mind?

I don't see it happening. Very much thinking we will end up like Cleary's first year, a team that could make it but is disjointed.

Storm, Penrith, Raiders, Broncos, Sharks, Sea eagles seem to have it together in a top 6. Bulldogs, knights?, Rabbits, Roosters??, St george and maybe others will duke it out for 7-8th.

It would be a hell of an achievement to see us make the 8, even with kind injuries (Forward pack anyone?)
