Really am starting to think it would be great if we get to keep Galvin, but at what cost, I think what we are being pushed into a corner on is the amount we are going to have to offer, is he currently worth same or more than Luai,
Because I think others are going to offer over 1ML.
If 1-2ML it will make him appear equal as Luai,
And he is no guarantee to be equal or better than him,
Just worried if we pay him over $1ML will we be able to keep current players like TDS and and purchase other new possibilities.

While 2024 was his break out season, he was already showing his talent the year prior. Gus didn't discover him. In fact, if it wasn't for the cancellation of NSW Cup in 2020, May would've stayed with Wests and been a club immortal by now!

If he signs for 1mil a year after the current contract that would be about the time the salary cap is increased with the new rights deal. So it might close to the standard price for a quality 5/8 anyway.

The new rights deal will be negotiated with the new owners of Foxtel and Kayo - they don't have history of paying any more than they need to for sporting rights and the NRL may have to go to Netflix or Paramount etc to get a deal. It may not be as lucrative as we think as there is a relatively small customer base in this country for NRL rights and they can pressure the NRL as there aren't that many competitors to drive the price up.

The story i heard was that Gus was prepared to sign all 3 May brothers but a very high profile sponsor objected as he didn't believe they would be a good influence on the club and the deal was let slide.

So going off the interwebs pla means either, polylactic acid, people's liberation army or please leave alone. I'm going with the last one, can't really see too many of the younguns being chemists or in the Chineese Army. 🤷‍♂️

Looked it up too even the last one doesn't seem to relate, that's what makes me think it's one of their own made up.
