Id say from my perspective the salary cap is being managed better than it has in years. Three over inflated contracts of players past their best gone - and the value of the players recruited evident. Depth is questionable and could blow up the season on the back of injuries, but credit to Richardson and recruitment I have a lot more trust in the process.
 
I’d love to know what Brisbane have been thinking about Brandon Piakura lately.

Jack Gosiewski getting a start over him these days.

Maybe they’d be open to relieving some cap pressure if he’s not in the plans, he’d be on decent $ given his origin experience.

They also are struggling to find $ money for all of Cobbo/Staggs/Hetherington.

Very talented and only 22 - fits within our timeframe as well.

Highly doubt it. I don't honestly believe there is any "missing out" on Taylan May, I believe it's at the discretion of Benji/Richo. So if he doesn't come, I fully expect they've declined to take him or won't meet his asking price.

Personally I think he's a loose cannon and a substantial risk and I think a hard-bargained deal is a good idea. No doubts he can play but it's the seriousness of the off-field stuff and the history of incidents across his family.

Along with his general arrogant demeanour - and both he and Tyrone's demonstrated lack of personal accountability or contrition for their f-ups!!

Tyrone's stupid social posts following the 2021 GF win ultimately cost him his Penrith contract after they had stuck by him through his court case & NRL stand-down - due to his friendship with the Clearys!!

If Taylan does sign with us - it needs to be with strict conditions and a tight leash to avoid reputational damage to the Tigers brand!!

A leopard can't change his spots jr, he's had plenty of time to consider his anti social behaviour and wake up to himself there has been a few NRL redemption examples in the past.
You still sound as if you would take him if the hard nosed deal was accepted by him.

Dont know too much about him tbh, though i know he is a very talented footballer, at the end of the day the ball is in his court if the offer were rumoured to have offered is real, its an entry for him back into the gane along side his brother who would be a calming stabling force for him, we need a really good defensive and attacking centre, would love for him to come, but if he doesnt life goes on, he needs to realise that he hasnt been a part of the game for a while and there are guys grinding it out in reserves who never get the chance to play N.R.L level football, if whats being rumoured is true that he wants a top 30 spot now he needs to show some humility, hes been out of the game for a while and cant just demand a spot ahead of guys grinding away in reserves whithout re earning it. Playing N.R.L is a privelidge that is worked at not a right.
Iv no idea why but i have a feeling he signed a week or two ago but we havnt announced it due to Olam, even though we had a spot its obvious hes replacing Olam and it would have looked disrespectful to announce it before Olams retirement, i think in a week or 2 we will get an announcement that May is on the books, iv got no info but its just a gut feeling.
