OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

We're in the box seat in being able to throw an upgrade for this and next and reduce the impact on the cap in future years. Say we throw an extra 600k this year and next, that's 1.2m into the total package.

Over a 3 year extension, if we offer him $1m a year after that, other clubs will have to throw in $1.3m to match.

I'd say richo clearing the cap is to do just that. Along with some $ for TDS too. In fact, we should extend TDS first. Will show start to show the loyality in this team.
The Tedesco experience should be a salient reminder if needed. Before throwing large sums of money at any player, the club will need to consider contract relativities with other players.

PNG Wow no way I personally believe that when PNG Start they will have the oldest roster of any club in the last 30 years if not oldest ever

It will be a retirement club and a group of has beens and never will be

PNG are building a compound for players and families to live in with schools for kids sorta like a club med

Thats going to destroy your families way of life after a year of getting locked in

Don't go out side you mite be abduct raped or killed

People have no idea what it's really like

I wouldn’t go to PNG regardless of $$ for an extended period of time. Work there enough to know how it is.

Didn’t say he should or would just more that the kid has options and knows it.

Many years ago a friend went there with his wife and daughters worked for a big bank he was promised everything security wise after 6 months wife and daughters left him there to finish his contract another 2 and a half years money is not everything

Galvin's defence is sus. Dropping of players.

Kudos to him for backing up after missing the initial tackle - just its a bit too late when he makes up for it for it in effort after the opposition has scored with him clinging on to their legs in the mayhem.

Terrible defence. Initially. Created the chaos. For a man.

For a kid. Defence was sufficient according to body height and mass. Different story. Still growing. At least he tried.

Great young player who will only keep getting better over the next few years with added experience and maturity, BUT is he worth a million dollar per season contract ?
My opinion is he is already a very good player and is virtually the face of our team, it would be a disaster to lose him, but the issue is he is definitely not worth a million dollars per season yet and probably won’t be for another 3-5 years.
On the flip side you have to ask the question will he be more valuable than Luai in 2-3 years time, considering Galvin is already far outdoing Luai in line breaks, line break assists and try assists, all the stats you need to see top class halves excelling in.
Luai has provided us great leadership, but can we continue to justify paying him 1.2 million per season in 3 years time if he does not dramatically improve his line breaks, line break assists and try assists ?

As ink said above. Danny Weidler saying it's hard to get word out of Tigers camp but they think 5mil/5years.
Also says the Roosters are not interested due to his manager.
Gould says he hopes Galvin stays.

Full clip here:
Goulds comments on the money is interesting. He is not wrong, but is he trying to offer up an alternative if Galvin wants to move away from the pressure of carrying the Tigers?
