OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Alas paws this seems to be the way it's heading so if he has no interest in extending now save dollars by leaving him on his modest contract he has at present.
If he won't accept a fair contract to keep us a chance of pushing for a premiership down the road we may have to switch to the Latu option.
If he is getting =>1.3M offers I can't see how we can match that and remain a chance of pushing for a premiership it will affect the quality of players around him.
This is where the 3rd party deals become very important

We're fortunate we have Richardson who will know whether WTs is being used to leverage more $ from other teams. A large contract requires salary cap room. Apparently some club's were ready last year to take on such a large outlay plus the inevitable third party arrangements if you consider the requests for release last preseason. Which club's had that room then?

The never ending contract sagas good to watch if it's not happening to your club, when something gets leaked about DCE's next contract destination the puzzle might start to unravel.

The MacArthur Weststigers are in the Laurie Daly GF today vs The Dragons, around 1.30pm.

Here's a fun fact -- Lachlan Galvin's younger brother Thomas is in the side on the bench No. 17 in the photo below. He looks a runt doesn't he? Here is a picture of him receiving his jersey from LG - he is 3 inches taller than LG who is 6 3 in the old language. Just another skinny beanpole eh? Maybe he becomes leverage in retaining the Galvinator?

Throw in Pat Richard’s side and start an NBL franchise. These kids are giants.

I don't necessarily think the money is the huge issue with Galvin.

I expect he is going to get paid well.

It's how the club plans to use him. Is he a 5/8 long term? If so- what happens with Latu Fainu?

Is there a chance Galvin moves to the back row? Or centre? Could Fainu move to centre? Would Fainu be satisfied with #14?

We are so lucky in some ways. We are now faced with the potential of having too many quality players to fit into the squad. It would be a sad day though, to lose one of Fainu or Galvin, simply because they are both stuck in one position.

There simply has to be a way to get the best players into the team.

is the kid really worth a mega deal, surely, we can squeeze him for a couple of hundred. Everything has played into his hands of late .DCE ,Dylan Brown, the new teams starting up. If anyone throws a spanner into the works ,i hope it's his parents. People say Izzac is stirring the pot, want Mum n Dad to leverage that gamesmanship, and cut ties. Good luck carrying Brookes. I doubt whether he could hide in any other team but ours- hasn't earned it yet. Allways something around the corner no point betting the farm on him
I think Galvin is worth $600k x 3y. He may prove me wrong by the end of the year, but I’m going on purely his work so far. Galvin doesn’t tackle as much as Brooks but when he does he doesn’t miss as many.
Brooks has been a crucial part of the Manly attack, being involved in 39% of their tries, while Galvin’s try involvement at Tigers is a mere 8.5%.

To galvin or not to galvin that is the question
🤣
Sick of hearing about him honestly. It's Brooks 2.0.

A month before November 1 sure but round 4 everyone is carrying on about player movement and not the footy.

Tigers winning is one thing. Tigers that are half decent to watch is better. Those past years of 5 hitups and a over end bomb by Brooks did my head in. Not only was the team losing but they losses in such a way that a person had to get half drunk to actually watch it.

Win or lose. Good defence and play footy in attack. That's all we want.

I’m with you. Apparently all this contract talk adds to the “theatre” of rugby league…I think it creates more work (and more income) for journalists and managers. Hence the reluctance for a transfer window.

There is so much movement in the NRL with halves. Ben Hunt was in the media for ages. Then Dylan Brown, now DCE. Galvin will be in the media until he extends. Not much we can do about it.
I’m glad all the Galvin talk is in here now and not in the other threads.

The issue is that Brown is worth a lot less than $1.4m too. No way Galvin will sign for 600

Ok let’s break this down
1) we let large leave to manly because he thought he would be behind Galvin , BUT did we get Galvin to sign on NO . So why did we let him walk when he was under contract .
2) we have given Galvin a chance last year and yes he has taken it with both hands , but I don’t here him or his parents giving benji credit , all we heard was we want a release , OK it has dropped of , but only after Richo said no early release.
3) so we sign a champion in luai to help him develop, yet he still refuses to take a up grade , why is it his manager or his parents, we need to know asap , because if we offer top dollar and he says NO Iam going to market , he needs to be dropped and bring in latu and get him up to speed , just my thoughts

You're just guessing with your third point.
Nobody knows what his thoughts are or what he may have already decided.
