DCE definitely won't be going anywhere for 750K/year. That offer from Manly was insulting. $1M minimum for him. What got me was:

Galvin, seems a 'solid' NRL player with points to improve in his game. 750 is what he is worth. 1m+ is what it will cost us to keep him. We will/should pay it because at least we know we get 750k taking the field for us (as opposed to say Sullivan on 500k and plays for reserve grade).
Luai can supposedly head elsewhere in 2027 if he wants.Latu and Galvin together would be top shelf.
Don't know why we offer a 5 year contract to Galvin when Luai is also off contract in 5 years. Both halves potentially out the door at the same time is playing with fire.

Yeah right. Good pointIts probably 5 years from end '26...takes him up to 2031
So, the expected rate for development will lead, in 2 years, to them (two 19 year olds) (potentially) being better than a 4 time premiership and State of Origin series-winning half?Luai can supposedly head elsewhere in 2027 if he wants.
IF Galvin and Latu develop at their expected rate, both could potentially be better players than Luai by 2027.
You might be right about this although it is a bit ambitious, the thing is I don’t see Luai getting a better deal anywhere else in the league so can’t see him leaving. I don’t blame the club for wanting to lock Galvin down but this deal will pretty much guarantee Latu is at a different club in the next year or 2. I know people want to see either of them play lock or centre but I’m fairly sure they both only want to be half’s in top grade. On the plus if Fainu & Sullivan are off the books you can sign a elite back rower which takes the starting 17 to the next level IMOLuai can supposedly head elsewhere in 2027 if he wants.

I thought Galvin had the speed, anticipation, but was well in front of Toá, when Toá should have been along side of him to receive the ball for a line break a couple of times. What do I make of that?Unfortunately you may be right as i believe Latu has more upside as a half than Galvin does.
Not impossible. So, the expected rate for development will lead, in 2 years, to them (two 19 year olds) (potentially) being better than a 4 time premiership and State of Origin series-winning half?
I find that highly, highly unlikely.
There's a big difference between not providing the last pass or kick and contributing 'very little to our attack'.Not impossible.
Luai has so far delivered us great leadership and a great defensive attitude, but has contributed very little to our attack.
Obviously we are only 4 games into the season so there is a long way to go, but if Luai continued to offer us very little in attack and the other 2 learnt from him and become much better in regards to their on field talk, leadership and defensive attitude, would there be a real need for Luai in 2027 ?
Obviously we will get a snapshot on how we cope without Luai this coming weekend, but I have a feeling with our other missing players, we will be like lambs to the slaughter this weekend, a win is highly unlikely.
Toa was daydreamingI thought Galvin had the speed, anticipation, but was well in front of Toá, when Toá should have been along side of him to receive the ball for a line break a couple of times. What do I make of that?
1. Toá to slow off the mark to get in line with Galvin.
2. Toá too slow to see the opportunity and get in the best position to take on the defence.
3. Haven't gelled yet?
3. May urgently needed for shear speed 'n aggression.
4. IMO, for now at least, Galvin should be tested in the centres with Doueihi, with Latu the 5/8.
Galvins defence would be suspect at present, but has the stamina to be up in their face before they get a full head of steam. Just my thoughts.
This isn't me having a go at you but have you watched the boys play in person this season? Not impossible.

Lmaooo chill bruh you ain't always gotta be so hostile all the timeDon’t bother with him. When we signed May, he claimed he was no better than Twal. One of his many clangers.
Guy is the dunce of the forum and that’s with stiff competition.

I have not been to a game live as yet this season as I have been overseas. This isn't me having a go at you but have you watched the boys play in person this season?

Mate, he’ll improve if he stops cutting back through the ruck as he has nowhere near the required speed. If not then off to the backrow he goes, worth $1 million? The deal being floated is not a bad one, he is in the top percentage of halves in the NRL and is still very young. With the cap going up this is not crazy money for a quality half who is not even at his best yet but will continue to improve.
I've been to three games so far & it doesn't show up on the TV but Luai is directing where everyone needs to be in our attacking shapes & hands out a fair few sprays if someone has missed their assignment or aren't where they need to be. As someone said he's not giving the last pass but he is having a hand in the build up to the tries like Turuvas first one against the Fins.I have not been to a game live as yet this season as I have been overseas.
