Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I can't recall a club statement like that ever before. If the club is intent on holding Galvin to his contract, I would suggest moving Galvin to the backrow as soon as Latu returns from injury. Aside from Latu, we have other options of varying quality, including Doueihi, Bird, Falls, Liles and Ackland. The latter two have been pretty impressive in their limited opportunities though they're very green.
The tigers have clearly been used in the past as bargaining chips for players and managers. Tigers just removed them selves from this scenario.

Agreed. The less we see or hear about his manager and family the better. Let's hope he has more integrity than Moses and refrains from agitating for an early release by tanking or feigning mental illness.
If he is dropped, that is exactly what will happen. They will wheel out the goofy teenager who "just wants to play footy" schtick.
I really wanted him to stay but admit that it will be good to get rid of the circus that follows him. What a slap in the face for the club that gave him an early start and then more than what he wanted.

If he pulls this rubbish than swap him now or reserve grade or even better sits out the remaining time of the contract, time to make a stand if this attitude eventuates, don't think Richo will put up with it.

I think this is good for us we've drawn a line in the sand we've made our statement clear, although i fully expect Galvin to be playing elsewhere in 26.
We know we don't have to keep money aside for him, we can go and strengthen elsewhere.
It was pretty inevitable things would play out like this Esp with Moses in the background, i wasn't comfortable with the rumored offer anyway i think it was way overs.

It’s a common theme with Isaac Moses to instruct his players to kick, scream, tank, do whatever it takes to get what they want.
I reckon we could put a 2-4 week deadline on it and if Galvin doesn’t change his mind and commit to the club long term, then we make alternative arrangements and look to get a high quality player away in return for releasing Galvin early.
Sea Eagles, Bulldogs, Roosters, Eels, Rabbitohs all possible destinations, who would we want from these clubs as a trade for Galvin ?

The whole system is lame. The guy is contracted to us until the end of NEXT YEAR.

He has flagged this when we are 3 and 3 off the back of a win in April the year prior. Absolute joke. Really hope this does not derail our season.

And how is it he can announce this now?

Why keep him here now? Let him go but we need to get an awesome trade in this instance. This a Luke Doncic like moment. We have to trade well.

There is nothing to put a deadline on,he rejected our offer without even looking at it.

I was just thinking about this...

Does he have thick skin?
Cos I can see his own clubs fans booing him every time he touches the ball in the next game.
hahaha exactly. Ish just got real, Lachie.

And not just next game. There are plenty of games from now until the end of 2026. There will be lots of boos, particularly if he's having a bad game. I don't know if he can comprehend how badly this will hurt fans. Especially if he signs with another Sydney club.

Let's hope Latu is actually that guy and the HIA issues can be corrected.

Deep down, Lachlan would know he is slow and won’t ever get faster.
Deep down, Lachlan would know he is tall, skinny, and runs with no power.
Deep down, Lachlan would look at his own father and know he is never going to be broad enough and heavy enough to play in the forwards.
Lachlan and Isaac would know this is likely to be the best contract Lachlan will ever get so they are going to go for it. They are entitled to.
We won’t have him here for 2026. Too much of a distraction. We will release him early for a swap in the next offseason.

I compare Galvin to Bula both in their commitment to the club and ability to play the 5.8 role. Both made their debuts following very good pre-seasons, pulled out of relative obscurity by the club. I am sure Marshall must be grievously disappointed with the decision by Galvin. Bula had demonstrated a strong commitment to our club.
