So the Eels and Bulldogs both suddenly release players this week -how dumb do the media think the NRL public are?
Two club shoot out - what anti tampering ?
And the RPLA want to talk about a playing being bullied who has been treated like a superstar for the last two seasons and who's manager demanded a release last season when Luai was signed and now lists 7 grievances with the coach.
I hope Richardson goes in all guns blazing.
The RLPAs responsibility is to the overall welfare and development of the player, during their career and after.
They wouldn't be doing the right thing by him as a young man, pulling him out of the West's Tigers environment for a situation he and his management team created. They are teaching him it's OK to stir up shit then run away when the going gets tough.
It also sets the precedent that you can talk sh1t about your coach and use it as a way to get out of your contract, because the club isn't allowed to react.
At the end of the day, this is a trial by media, which is why I have said we need to be seen to punish Turuva (again, I don't agree with it).
What
should happen and what will probably happen, given the trial by media, are two different things.
Facts:
- Galvins management told Richo he doesn't want to be at the club long term
- The sacking of Galvin to KOE can be positioned as a strategic decision, that we don't need to spend our time developing a player who doesn't see his future at the club, he's 19 and playing in a lower grade will actually do him good whilst we focus on the club's long term strategy. A player can't demand to play first grade, look at Jackson Hastings.
- Benji bent over backwards to accommodate Galvin, making 4 time premiership winner take a back seat to a 19 year old rookie.
- Galvin said he wanted to address the playing group.
- The only potential bullying is the social media post by Turuva. The post from Luai aligns with the "team first" that the team was speaking about in the pre season documentary and whilst we all know it was a jab, it's too long a bow because there was nothing about Lachlan himself..
- Galvin has been dropped to NSW Cup for just one game. This isn't bullying. You could say that him giving away 7 tackle sets and the ball on zero tackle vs the Knights is enough of a reason for us to try another angle.
- This "mental health" is Lachy ok bullshit is the doing of his parents and manager. The Tigers are not responsible for the media circus that's occured. They chose to play their hand so the Tigers reacted.
Again, it's trial by media, Richo knew this would happen when they released the original statement.
I feel like I'm repeating myself alot here.. it's just frustrating that there are people on the "save Lachlan" bandwagon when he and his management are the ones who created this mess in the first place.
I really like the support we have from Braith and Gordy on NRL 360.
Channel 9 on the other hand seem to be camp Moses.
It's sad we have been put in this position, when really he should just have to see out his contract in the KOE or however Benji and Richo see fit.
