FOX NEWS 500 - Press Conference 11:45am

My worry is they will burn themselves out in the first 20 trying to destroy the eels .
I think there’s going to be some violence in that first 20. Some dudes are going to get hurt . Not illegally . But yea. Hopefully they can temper emotions , and the fans can get them through .
I think Romey is going to destroy the eels . He will run all day at them . And a far more dynamic and scary proposition for the eels than Lachie . If AD can play the Romey role ( which I think he can , then I think they will be ok .
One thing , which I never thought I’d say , we will be far better defensively in contact . The catching tackle style of Lachie , can lead to many a quick play the ball .
I think youre getting emotional about it.

No one on either side has a beef with each other...i dont foresee too much drama in the game

Think the club has dropped the ball with this, only in regards to not getting it up on the website asap, this is the biggest talking point in the game where the coach wants to reach out to the fanbase and as of yet its not up on the site as far as I can tell.
No...unnecessary

Anyway you'd need to be on mars to miss it

I thought they all spoke well, however Benji did not finish strongly. He was visibly agitated with all the questions about the future - most of which were obviously going to be raised. He even stated “you are asking me all these questions about what I think. I don’t know”. That’s not a good way to handle that.

I think he was referring to the questions that were looking for speculation. Eg he doesn't know if and when Galvin will return to first grade - for many reasons - AD and Luai could keep him out, Galvin could have a rubbish attitude etc etc.

There were silly questions aiming to get a story.

It’s the way he answered them that matters. He is still too transparent.
Think how a politician would supply info to questions they don’t want to answer. They have their talking points and they stick to them.
The message was “we aren’t bullying this kid, he is still a Tiger”. That had to be repeated every way possible.

What worries me this week is we are 2 players down on our top 17
I think the young winger is the best replacement for Skelton
But
I wish we had L.Fainu available for Galvin.
Moving Doueihi and putting Naden next to the young winger in defence is surely a target that Parramatta will attack.
Plus
Has any team that has played each other twice this year won both games ?
Unfortunately I think not.
A win for the Tigers this weekend would really show people how much this team has improved and are no longer the laughing stock of the competition.

disagree,

The transparency leaves no room for speculation.

Everything has been addressed honestly and strongly and our position is clear. We don't care what anyone thinks.

Most people are on our side here.

What do you think the purpose of the presser was?
There was no need after Elias made a fool of himself last night...if this were an election debates WTs win 90+ %.
But its a bit of PR, countering Galvins statement yesterday, getting in the last word ...and hopefully get the media off the clubs coach and players backs 4 days out from the parra game.
Public opinion is mainly with the club bar channel 9 and uncle
gus.
Round 7 starts tonite that will also detract from this saga.
No mainstream RL programs till Monday bar 9 on sunday morning...should quiten down.a bit by then

It's a way to control further questions in future. If we didn't address it today, every week in every player or coach interview or post-game press conference, the media would hound us with questions about it as well as the added speculation during the week. Now we can say "We addressed it on April 17 and we don't have any further comments on the matter".

To say that LG can return to first grade .

saying otherwise triggers a cause for a release .
Also think the timing was such so that it was addressed earlier in the week prior to the captains run and the like gives us a further 3 days to focus on the preparation for the game without the media circus.

Just saw the weidler presentation of the press conference on Ch9 news. Have to say that it was edited to suit the Galvin storyline and wasn’t at all a fair representation of what was said or the messages that Benji, Api or Luai were voicing.
Weidler is an absolute lowlife.
