OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Brooks stayed for years, Bula won't necessarily go, he'll end up where he wants. I doubt Moses holds grudges, there are only 2 camps, people he works for and people who think is lower than a squashed cockroach.

He wouldn't be able to get any deals done if this was emotional for him. From his actions iver a long period, He loves money more than he respects himself and that tells you all you need to know.
not necessarily so ,Moses is good at his job, think he just gets off on screwing you over any chance he can. .top dog stuff

Call me biased, but does anyone else think he is over hyped?

I mean, he’s no slouch. Effort can’t be doubted, especially for someone who apparently doesn’t want to be here, he plays his heart out. He has a good short kicking game and his running game goes alright.

He isn’t an organiser, he isn’t super quick, he crabs around often. He’s not the kind of player who will win a game for you on his own, i.e Barba, Hayne, Marshall etc

To say he is a generational player is a stretch and I think him knocking our offer back is a blessing in disguise.

He isn’t at the level Tedesco was at when he left and I think Moses was a better player at that point too.

I don’t think he will be the generational player he is hyped to be, but who knows.

He isn’t in the same league as Cleary and never will be IMO

As I’ve stated quite a few times, I rate Galvin highly as a rugby league player, but lack of loyalty and willingness to manipulate and deceive the club that has given you your opportunity and the club that represents the area were you grow up is nothing short of a despicable act.
Yes he’s only young and is likely being influenced by others, but his lack of respect is a slap in the face to everyone who supports Wests Tigers, so my opinion is I don’t want him in the team even if he changed his mind.
Use him as bait to get a good quality player as a trade, otherwise let him play NSW Cuo for the next 2 years and only consider him for BRL if we have an injury crisis.
Adam Doueihi is just as classy, sometimes more classy than Galvin as a 5/8 on his day, his problem in the last has been consistently, but we also have Latu Fainu who most Wests Tigers suppportwrs agree is potential a better player than Galvin.
Latu’s kicking game is a concern, but Lachie has never demonstrated a better than average kicking game himself.

It’s not only a slap in the face to the Tigers to be honest.

His manager and the media have portrayed him as the second coming and he has bought into his own hype.

He will likely secure a massive contract wherever he goes. He will have to meet the expectations of the deal he receives immediately.

It’s very likely that he will culturally struggle wherever he goes. New kid on the block, young, massive money, disrespected his old club on the way out. Not sure that his new team mates will be excited to meet him.

After this fiasco, I think he needs to go to Parramatta for his own sake. At least Moses can help him settle in.

He needs to figure out how to fix his public image asap because it is going to follow him, and if he doesn’t perform or meet the expectations , the media will be all over him unfortunately.

Im glad that I have never really fully weighed in on this topic until now.

This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions in relation to the events surrounding Galvin. Here are my thoughts on the situation.

Initially, when I heard the news that Galvin knocked us back, I was a potent mixture of disappointed and angry. I was disappointed that we could not keep a junior with such obvious promise at this club. Im hearing a shitload of people saying words to the tune of "He ain't all that" and "Latu will be better than him". Those words come from understandable disappointment to be losing a player with his potential. This reaction never happened when we lost a player like Jock Madden for instance.

On the other hand, Im angry at the way this was handled by his management. They are well within their rights to knock our offer back. But, to not even look at the offer we put together smacks of disrespect. I could even accept that though. What I CANNOT accept is the disrespectful comments aimed towards the coach and flows down to his teammates. That is unacceptable from Galvin and the people that manipulate him to act that way.

You'll notice that I used the word "manipulate" in the previous sentence. I have heard Galvin speak twice.....one was a radio interview late last season and the other was part of being in a "Fletch and Hindy" skit tonight. What had really struck me in those two media spots is that although he is 18 or 19, his maturity levels are FAR below that. Don't confuse maturity with intelligence. In both of those media spots, he seems like an absolute kid, not a money hungry bastard.

He is an adult and should be responsible for his actions. But, I have absolutely no doubt in the world he is heavily manipulated by his manager to take the actions that he has done this week......and that is pretty irresponsible to put this guy through the absolute ringer by sports and social media this week. They absolutely had to have known his actions would have cause this reaction from the media and general public. A part of me feels sorry for the kid in that way....he does not have the maturity to comprehend the outcome from all of this....but unfortunately for him, he has bought a ticket to get into this circus, he will have to go through it.

Finally, our club has clearly grown off the paddock since Richo took over. Benji was an absolute star with the way he spoke today. I will be the first to admit that I had big question marks over him being the head coach of this club with no previous coaching experience. But, the way those players put in for him every week and the absolute humility with what he had to say today, he has basically won me over today. The Galvin thing could be the absolute making of Benji as a coach.

Our captains also spoke very well and Richo's strong tone is setting our club up for success. Yet, another strong day for our club.

According to Kenty the deal is done, he’s off to the slimers. The only business to be sorted is when. Kenty is pretty excited, like he’s halfway down the straight riding hands and heels, 6 lengths clear.
