The first press release Richardson did where he said we gave him the biggest contract but he doesn't want to be here etc..

Good or bad?

It felt like a strong move at the time, but I feel in hindsight it was the wrong move. Straight away, we made it a him vs us thing.

The media spin esp with Gus in it will now become that all Galvin did was to say that he won't be here from 2027 onwards and that we alienated and forced him out.

The perception for the last few years has been that we don't treat our players well and this just adds to it.

I like Richos strong mindedness and the exterior he shows. I believe that initial press release was a bad call.

I rewatched the whole Bloke in a Bar interview recorded just before the PMs 13 game which LG made in 24.
It might just be my take but you get a sense that he was just treading water at Wests and his interest in the side waned when Sheens was sacked and Benji was named as coach.

It was as soon as Sheens was sacked that he started asking to be released.

If so, Moses (who if you believe most on this forum) has instigated this whole sorry saga, so he himself, could get less money 🤔

Your missing the part where his manager organised "other payments" just like he did at Parramatta before telling players to lie to the integrity unit before being caught and suspended from the game. Make no mistake it'll be 700k on the cap and 300 - 400k from uncle Laundie in some roundabout way. And honestly if they can get away with it good for them. We've been fighting this uphill battle with the clubs with the financial backing for 2 decades, what have we done to give us that kind of ability. We need to get with it and get creative. Galvin wanted out but that's not saying that young halfback the dogs have can't be enticed, if cash money is needed to entice him go for it. If you can't beat them join them.

Spot on, Ciraldo turned the job down cause it wasn't set up and ready for him to take over. Benji didn't give a toss, he got in and just had a crack, he wasn't afraid and we are improving, everyone can see it. If Ciraldo was such a better coach why not take on the challenge like Benji did.

Imo your right only with the situation being isolated with the recent developments. We need to remember he was requesting releases all last year aswell until Richo sat down with his inner circle. So once we remember that the us against him narrative goes out the window because he's not going to play playstation at home for 2.5 years if we release him, he's not asking to be released from an N.R.L team without somewhere else to go already, if he loves playing as much as everyone claims. This has been brewing for ages. Whether it was Parra or Canterbury who started talking to his manager and started him thinking, iv no idea but iv got no doubt the seed was sown by one of those clubs to entice him across. As soon as Sheens left he started asking to be let go. This isn't just a this year issue, this has been bubbling for the better part of 2 years now.

I still don't see how his style of play fits with the dogs - he wants his hands on the ball every set and drifts across field either looking for a hole or a runner. The dogs have been playing direct and then getting quick ball out wide to their centres and SR. To me his style is the total opposite to what the dogs are doing.

The reality is no matter how Richo played this Galvin was leaving and in someway it was going to look bad for us.

Moses & Gould weren’t waiting around anymore.
It was get out now or you don’t play at the Bulldogs.

The issue was the emotion which many discard but it’s clear as day based on how most at the club have reacted didn’t agree with how Galvin camp approached things this time to get out.

End of the day he is gone and we move on.
We get to look forward to now the next fiasco or potentially some hope.

Yes we fans need to also be prepared for highlights of Galvin doing something well & numerous times over next few years the media at points mentioning the wests tigers in some context - but not in a way us fans want to see.

I actually do. The Bulldogs are an all effort team. They however don’t have anyone that can do something off the cuff which despite his flaws can do and will give them something new in attack which they do actually need. The main concern for them will be how to control it without it costing them & being patient.

Yes, this has been my opinion since the day it occurred. Moses didnt release all this information, the club did. That decision has started a chain reaction that led directly to where we are here today where we have to watch another talented young gun leave this place and drag us through tonnes of drama in the media.

Once again, the club is absolved of all failings. Its easier for the fanbase to have an evil entity to blame and Moses has form here. The mob also loves a scapegoat to attack and can turn on anyone in the blink of an eye.
The resulting narrative is that Moses is an underhanded piece of shit who hates this club and is actively trying to bring it down and Galvin is an entitled brat who divided the playing group as he hates the coach and may also be tanking games.
No one is questioning the Club's role in this because..."In Richo we trust"....

I don't know that I've said it on here but privately I've been convinced he was going to the dogs for a long time now.

Phil Gould didn't just react this week, he orchestrated the whole damn thing and Galvin knew he had a deal at the dogs. Probably started around the time they hired Vella or shortly after they got wind of Galvin being unhappy.

Galvin might have stayed had they not have come calling.

Gould is up to his ears in it.

Parra have been played as fools being the team to take the focus off the Dogs having this locked up a long time ago. Sucks to be the Eels but this is what happens when real clubs play games with shit clubs. Us included.

All I hope is that Richardson is aware of all that has taken place and has formulated an outcome that suits our team. I'm sure he has and I reckon we will see it play out very soon.

Just did a background search on Luke Vella because I've never really heard of him...

He was a Bulldogs junior that got a shoulder injury and then took over as Jersey Fleg coach in 2020, held this position until 2023, the year the team won the comp.

And in 2024 he was promoted to NRL assistant coach, transitional coach.

Not a teacher at Westfield's Sports High, but a coach...




Looks a bit like Galvin.
Probably has been a good mentor for him and others as he's seen how hard it is and how it can all go away, just as quickly.

Assuming Galvin was on $250k this year and $350k next year, Moses will still be getting between 2 and 3 times the commission that he would be getting if he stayed here.

Moses still wins and once again destabilises this club.

I will go back as far as Tim Simona, Simon Dwyer, Benji Marshall, Robbie Farah, Mitch Moses, James Tedesco, Aaron Woods and Luke Brooks to tell them that is not correct.

The CEO of a strong club using his powerful media position to undermine contracts at the wooden spoon club - no I wouldn't support it no matter who he worked for. Disgraceful.
