Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I agree. He has played 21 games for us with another 12 possible this year as he hasnt been selected this weekend. Thats 33 + season 26 , he comes back to us in 2027 with 50+ first grade games under the belt plus some new ideas from a different coaching steup. Meanwhile, we can take the opportunity to start training his understudy next year for 27 onwards.
I don’t see Tallyn agreeing to any of that.
I would reckon if he goes to another club, that’s it, he’s gone.
No mucking about.

We cant say this when we dont know the content of this infamous dossier.
If he has kept a dated timeline of events, the club will be at a huge disadvantage to prove innocence.
If it was released to the public, the PR hit would be massive irrespective of how much truth is present.
Theres a reason theyve let him go and I dont believe they havent read and discussed at length these accusations.
100% Tucker it's lose, lose for the club, even in a protracted battle the club wins the P.R hit and accusations would hurt the club. The players involved would be affected. Galvin and his camp lose a few dollars and l8fe goes on for him at another club. For us though it's not worth it. We simply cannot win.

He probably sees himself as a starting quality hooker in 2026, and that won’t happen while we have Api, certainly not next season and probably the one after. Rather than lose him altogether, why not consider a Harry Grant type scenario. Loan him to another club for a season to get him regular first grade time. I know it’s not that straightforward, but it’s also clearly not unprecedented. Harry benefited, Wests Tigers benefited and Melbourne benefited. We’ve also done it with Bud as well, albeit under different circumstances. Get creative Tigers.
I think this suggestion has merit and Richo can point to how well it worked out for Grant as you say. The challenge is getting into a noffa style situation where he starts to enjoy the new club and we get hit with negative press again.

We're talking probably about 1 year here to juggle.

I applaud Tarak in coming out and being direct. Didn't throw the club under the bus, and it's a fair call. Other clubs will be out there looking to have TDS start for them. If Tarak managed Galvin, it might have had a bit more professionalism like this.

Its worth a shot surely?
You are probably right though, we seem at long odds to keep this kid and thats very dissappointing.
Last year we were going to build this club around Bula, Pole and Galvin and him and the Fainus and maybe the Lauli'is...its all starting to fall apart.

Yep, IMO if we extend Api, we'll lose TDS. This decision needs to be weighted against a lot of criteria.
Personally I dont think its worth losing Tallyn. Api could be absolutley spent by the end of 26
If we keep Api hoping it's for 14 and 20 to 30 min at hooker, get Tallyn more game time to get him playing 60 - 80 every week.

The truth is we need them both until Tallyn is up to scratch. I think Api will be fine. Personally, I am ok with losing Da Silva if he doesn't want to come off the bench for a few years while he develops the strength and fitness to be a reliable NRL hooker.

Do you think our captain will re-sign to a utility role?
Theres new teams entering the comp...he'll want his payday.
Your probarbly right, I just struggle in my mind to lose Tallyn for Api. At the same age it's Api hands down. But he's in his 30s now and Tallyn is just starting, he's shown he's good enough. I just can't see how re-signing a player in his mid 30s at the cost of a good young player who's rising is a good thing. I know Api brings other qualities to the team and imo he is a club legend. Still though I can't justify it.

Kobe hethrington still avail for next season.

So far as i know, he hasnt re-signed for Madges Muppets.

Send him a Sharon Benji. Get it done.
Kobe needs to run more. Defensively he's fine. But hard. To say with him and the rest of the Broncos forwards outside haas and Carrigan. Really need to see those two out and see how Kobe goes before making a. Decision. Think Twal would be better on the bench. He's been doing a fair job though

Guys Fox is reporting Bulldogs players are not happy about Galvin going there and the way he publicly criticised his coach…. is this why the release and signing is taking so long? Could we see a back flip?
Where could he backflip to?
Wont be here and Im certain Parra are filthy on him after laying all the ground work only for him to choose elsewhere.
This could play right into the hands of the transit lounge. $650k and an Origin callup in 2027....lol

We are not going to win a premiership in the next 3 years so I'd make Tallyn a priority. Give Api a contract to play 14. Or even lock. But in 2027 I would give Tallyn the keys to the team.

Wouldn’t be a backflip. He’d just do a lateral and go to Parra after all.

What credibility lol ..

There is an old saying I’ve heard from one of the best coaches of any sport Bill Belichick …it’s better to let a guy go a year early than a year late …
Also it’s awesome to date a girl that could be your granddaughters age than to grow old gracefully! 😉 said Bellicheck

By 2027, he will have been doing that for 4 seasons. He would have also had 5 proper preseasons with the club.
Surely thats a good enough apprenticeship?

Yeah he's off to the Bulldogs. But if he goes straight into the starting side his teammates will definately be angry. The side is on top of the ladder through hard work and teamwork and now a young teen comes in without doing any of that. Getting rid of one of their mates.

Stupid. Galvin could of gone to Parra and straight into the 5/8th spot outside Moses.

It's like some fans want to come last forever. Always finding reasons not to sign anyone on the market. Apparently there's practically no one out there good though to sign for us. Newsflash, we have the worst roster in the comp with zero quality in the outside backs. We can't be picky. May would be the fastest back at the club if he signs.

Add the impact rejecting him could have on Terell and we simply cannot pass on him. 18 month deal with a club option
Querying some of your quotes
1. Always finding reasons not to sign anyone on the market.

Have mentioned numerous times on this forum that we need to BUY some more middle forwards, a
2nd rower & a Centre

2.May would be the fastest back at the club if he signs.

Can’t recall seeing May show above average speed so couldn’t see him being any faster than Bula or To’a.
(Agree the team lacks speed)

3.Add the impact rejecting him could have on Terell

Surely we are not just going to start signing any of our players brothers just to make sure they don’t get upset.
