Wait, so when Richo mentioned on the pod that the 1mil deal for LG was comprised from deals with multiple parties (never mentioned the word 3rd party).
Is that legal?

If it is to be arranged at arms length; is it the manager that’s supposed to get the 3rd party deal to bump up the contract for his client.

The reason I ask is because Richo would of put that deal together without any of the managers input.

I’m still unclear as to how and when a 3rd party deal gets included into a complete deal for a player.

These third-party deals are a murky area of the game, the NRL should've made this more transparent decades ago.

I don't believe this at all. Laundy isn't allowed to offer 3rd party payments. Do I think every club, including the Dogs in this very deal breach the cap in some way? Probably. But I also think it is entirely reasonable for someone to take a pay cut to get out of a work environment in which they are not happy. And at 750k a season he isn't going to be struggling financially doing so.

Well, Your initial post was that Laundy hotels was making the payments.
Do I think he potentially could be influencing other businesses to do so? Potentially, yes.
Do I think he really would be? Not really. Those businesses would have to be a obviously not connected to his. So I don't think he can really use his business sway to do so. Plus it doesn't make much commercial sense, at a business level to throw any significant money at Galvin. Nor would it reflect particularly well on him as businessman or as a bloke if he were leaning on other businesses to do so.
I think it more likely he would potentially use his billionaire mates to invest in a player. Kind of like bros going in together on a race horse. But I don't see Galvin as a big enough get to warrant getting the mates involved.
Again I see it far more likely that Gould seen a decent young player, unhappy at his current club and started moves to bring that player to the Dogs. I think it was a 12months process but he got his man.

I know the feeling but I see some special traits in Tavana & Taotua that suggest NRL potential, they just got to stay injury free & have that inner determination to progress.

Tavana reminds me of Bula. Lean, super athletic outside back who needed a couple of years in Flegg to develop properly before making the jump to grade.

Bula is a great example that not every player needs to debut at 18-19 and a 2-3 years in Flegg and Cup is very beneficial.

That is my understanding as well, named sponsors are not able to provide "arms length" 3rd party deals to players. Anything they would pay a player would come straight off the salary cap. I know Galvin likes playing golf...laundy may be a really bad golf player that likes to back himself with a wager or two against some of the players who might have signed for love not money.

Our contract was a proposal of a package, it was a 5 year 6 million dollar agreement that factored in 3rd party payments, it was never ever going to take up 1.1 million in salary cap every year.

Galvin has taken 750k for this year at the dogs which goes up 25% over the the length of the deal

The Laundy family has a net worth of approx 1.5billion. do you think he is concerned with commercial/business sense throwing say 250k a year at Galvin to top up his contract? Gould would be coming to him and telling him who to top up with 3rd parties and he wouldnt give it a 2nd thought

I don’t think it would be that brazen. I think it’s a little unfair that he’s being tarred with the same brush as Galvin. The circumstances are completely different. If he sees his path here blocked, and another club is offering him a starting role, why wouldn’t he take it?

I think it's the same. He's just turned 20, hasn't he? How many other first grade hookers are 20? He should bide his time, learning from the best, then take over as Api winds down.
