LIVE GAME Round 13 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
We need to stop worrying about things we can't control such as penalties, six agains and sin bins. We need to worry about what we can control. Tackling ,running onto the ball, passing , kick chase and effort. If do that we will competitive evey match.
Once they did concentrate on that, they looked unstoppable.

Im
Assuming we are signing May or a classy center and then expect Makasini to put himself in the picture late in the season or into next season. I don’t think we are more one signing short in the backline. Skelton is due back next week and Luke Luuali is screaming for selection off his performance today.
Why has Taylan not been signed? More procrastination by this club. Uncle Benny wants him and probably will sign him.

What are you talking about bro . With the competition so tight , an injured player , or a harsh 6 again / sin bin/ penalty , or a series of them , can kill you .
There was one 6 again where the tackle was super fast and the guys peeled off , probably too quick , and he called it . The only possible thing could have been hands on the ball , but man that’s brutal with how fast the play the ball is .

The Tigers scored 28-6 when playing 13-13....

Only the Doueihi sin-bin was justified - and the ref intnentionally handicapped the away team!

Obvious to anyone with a clue!
Gettin' mighty sick of you bagging our Origin rep, Snidest!!!
True Bluey Doueihi.🤣

I know what you are saying but it happens to all teams. We cant constantly blame refs. The problems are deeper than ref decisions,

The AD sinbin is within the rules …although I think that rule should be changed as its ramifications are too severe and also encourages diving ..

I still don’t know what Luai was doing when he got sinbinned … that cost them 14 points and you could argue the game … we need him to be better than that
Yea I dunno man . It was early in the game . I know when I used to play , I definitely lied all over the ruck and would pin thier shoulders / move my hips to hold them down , whilst looking at the ref , to see how much I could take the piss early on .
And the thing about that sin bin , is the ref didn’t warn anyone . From my experience playing the game , even at at a couple levels lower , you took the piss until you got that ,” do that again and you’re in the bin “ .
There was zero communication from the ref . That’s kind of a golden rule when you’re on the field . Which is why I thought his send off was pretty harsh .
Even api and Luai were arguing the same point . It’s too this , I scratch my head , as since the game has been played that push and pull with the ref re. Gamesmanship , has always been there . I’m not saying Luai wasn’t in the wrong , just that I’m almost certain he was playing to ref . Which every single coach to ever coach has coached thier players to do .
I dunno .. I get where Sutton was coming from , but he never communicated “final warning” . Which is pretty shit IMO.

We're talking how sin bins stuffed us, the scoreline with 13 v 13 and how a few injuries and 50/50 calls didn't go out way...

We've done this before.

The game is won when you face adversity and respond to it. Every team has their share of it, not every team concedes heaps of tries when down a man, in fact when we have the man advantage it feels like it often goes the other way.

Those moments are about being physical in the tackle, being tactical and smart, lifting even more.

This team hasn't demonstrated that resilience yet, and in fact they have looked a fair way off that in significant periods of their recent matches.

When looking at the game, there's no point making excuses. How did we cope when the momentum was against us? We wilted.

I think there's a football team in this squad, but there were so many dumb plays and so many soft tackles and so much that felt familiar from years past.

Thats why we need to stick solid in A and D to negate the Refs bias that its in their whistle to manipulate the outcome

💯 mate . Whilst I thought some of the ref decisions were as brutal an interpretation as you could get for some of his calls , it is what it is . You can’t just let in 4 tries and a penalty . They had to be better . And they weren’t

He said three penalties in a row in the red zone is an automatic sin bin …. And they were all committed by Luai … there is no requirement for a warning …. You can say it’s harsh but I think this is more worthy of a sinbin then AD where there was some doubt over whether Bateman was genuinely impeded or was diving …I think the penalty in that case would have been sufficient IMO

Luai has got to be better and not push the envelope so hard …that put them in a massive hole from the start

Ref did state ,that's 3 consecutive infringements in 3consecutive sets from you Jerome its a send off . Amillion $ player should know the fine print ,as should all NRL players to manipulate those rules to the teams advantage , not get pinged for it
