I'll go with this to a degree. It would be nice to not have to depend on what the refs are doing in order to win some games. Maybe score a few more tries first. I accept that sometimes you need to make it a topic in order to get in the refs head and shake up biases that certainly exist, but its not the primary reason behind our defeats this season.100% spot on….we never get the rub of the green from the refs…it’s almost like they have been given an edict to never give us a break…no 50/50 calls go our way
Are we talking about a different game? Because the tackle Luai put on Talagi was before he had kicked the ball and 100% legal. Also Luai needs to control his aggressiveness. His Tackle on Blaize Talagi, the scores were level, we had scored more tries than the panthers. It just changed the atmosphere of the game. Once Talagi had kicked the ball, it was only a superficial act to smash him. Same as against the Cowboys, we were not losing that game (yet) either but the early sin bin changes the whole dynamic.
You have to compete mate, otherwise fans will say person A didn’t put in an effort. This won't be popular but when you see someone is going to kick the ball, which is always a number of metres away, you pull out of the tackle. Pressuring is fine.
Always err on the side of caution. Luai should have done this and the other one. He's a million dollar player, he should know better.
I think people think refs have more say on the outcome then they do. 9/10 the best team wins, regardless of the ref.
It’s no coincidence Canterbury scored off a dummy kick today. Once players think they shouldn’t compete on a kicker this will be the result. You have to compete mate, otherwise fans will say person A didn’t put in an effort.
Fine balance.
Richo should take both those examples to a meeting with the refsDo you mean thursdays Sharks dragons game?

I'm not disputing the legality of the Tackle. The way the rules are written are complete garbage and contradict themselves, you can be at fault for going after the legs or not directing your tackle at the football. It was a clean tackle but the ref considered it a dangerous act not directed at the football. Are we talking about a different game? Because the tackle Luai put on Talagi was before he had kicked the ball and 100% legal.

I remeber watching the NFL final and a point guard scored a touchdown (aka try), but a new rule came in.You think the refs are dicey in the NRL?
It's every team sport.
And here's an old clip of Jose Mourinho when he coached Chelsea back in the day; it might as well be Benji today!!

Often after a kick and the tacklers checking his own defensive lineMy pet peeve at the moment is when players tackle someone and then whilst holding them down, turn to the ref to see if they should now get off the tackled player. The time it takes for them to turn around and get the nod is basically them holding a player down illegally. I get that in dominant tackles you wait for acknowledgement from the ref, even then its usually called out as dominant. If you watch someone like critta at the dogs, he does it in almost every tackle.
Knights screwed big time with the late forward pass call at 20-20
And on their last try, referee hadn’t called six again even though Hammer clearly touched it. Lucky they scored off that playThey ended up winning but was terrible call that nearly cost them the game.
