Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This Izaac Tui'tupou playing cup for us

He was always solid when he was at south's.
I liked him more than Tass.

Went to Raiders and floated around their reserve grade before landing with us.

The thing I like about this guy, is his attitude.
I believe he's likes 27, 28 years old?
He knows the dream is nearing its end.
If we gave him an opportunity i believe he'd cherish it, make the most of it and not let us down.

More than I could say about Naden.

Probably and the way things are going Wests Tigers will probably be out of the NRL in roughly the same timeframe,

Things are a bit of a worry… lot of people here went from “ we are so much improved and with 2-3 close losses going our way we would be in the 8 “ to full blown doom and gloom in the space of a week…, not sure it’s the time to be slashing wrists just yet about next year … although I’ve long known this year has been over … another write off

Although I don’t know what’s going on with Richo … all season it’s been apparent the lack of depth would come home to roost at some stage .. yet he has done nothing apart from project Taylan all season to bring new players to the club and continued to let players go ?

Benji was at Lidcombe watching on Saturday apparently.
If he was watching he would have seen Naden still doesn’t give a you know what, while Tu’itupou is ripping and tearing and has the Eye of the Tiger,
Common sense would tell me to move Turuva to fullback, slot Tui’itupou in on the wing, move Skeltonnibti the centres for a game and select either Luke Laulilli or Charlie Staines for the right wing. Young Laulilli probably done enough to get a start on Friday night.

The way Richo has been moving recently it’s like he must have pocket aces and whatever he announces it will be one of the best in wests tigers history, but I have absolutely no clue who he could bring in other than maybe Fifita but that’s slim I think

That sounds like a good Chat GPT summary 👍

Expecting there will be some sort of transfer fee to cover the next 18 months of TDS's contract payable to the club when all parties sit down to finalise tomorrow.

Richo probably told Tartak (TDS' manager) that we would be happy to release immediately if the new club pays us X amount (probably similar to Galvins so maybe around the $150K) & Parra would have been aware in negotations with Tartak.

I am really torn over the direction of the club.

On one hand, we seem very clear on the character of players we keep at the club. You have to want to be here and if not, see you later. That takes guts given the money and ego in pro sport. We have also seen players dropped for their poor application and given spells in Cup to work on it. Again, not that easy to live with as a club but important. I think both of these are healthy and a change from the past.

However, it is coming at the cost of our results in the short term. We had a lack of depth and it has gotten worse. There are no guarantees that we will replace those who left with similarly talented players or better. And the coach isn't Ivan Cleary, capable of getting lesser players to be play above their level.

The fans need a few signings and a clear direction. All Richo has said most recently is we won't sign players for the sake of it but at this stage he may need to.

Chat got could probably run our club better than Pascoe and lee
for what its worth i did ask chatGPT plus this prompt: how would you fix wests tigers if you took over as ceo
and this is what i received:
Fixing the Wests Tigers as CEO is a massive but not impossible task—it would require strong leadership, ruthless honesty, long-term vision, and short-term accountability. Here’s a structured plan for turning the club around:

🔧 STEP 1:

1.

  • Clean out ineffective board members and streamline decision-making.
  • Appoint a Head of Football with premiership experience, not ex-players on sentiment.
  • Rebuild a functional front office with data-driven executives (see Penrith or Brisbane models).

2.

  • Are we Balmain or Western Suburbs? Decide.
  • Rebuild a unified culture—new mission, values, and identity.
  • Commit to being either a development club (Penrith-style) or an aggressive recruitment club (Roosters-style). Not both.

🏋️ STEP 2:

1.

  • Hire a modern tactical coach—someone who understands man management and analytics.
  • Back the coach fully with non-negotiables: no interference, but performance benchmarks must be hit.

2.

  • Appoint an elite head of recruitment with runs on the board.
  • Fix the pathway leaks. Too many juniors leave (e.g., Josh Addo-Carr, Ryan Papenhuyzen).
  • Stop overpaying for average players. Tear up the old contract culture.

3.

  • Clean out toxic elements.
  • Identify future leaders (e.g., Apisai Koroisau, if he buys in) and build around them.

🌱 STEP 3:

  • Partner heavily with Western Sydney schools and clubs.
  • Invest in junior coaching, mentorship programs, and education.
  • Build a West Sydney Centre of Excellence for juniors.
  • Make staying at Tigers the dream—create a Penrith-style loyalty pipeline.

💰 STEP 4:

  • Rebuild trust with transparency: regular CEO updates, open fans forums.
  • Fix Leichhardt and Campbelltown split—play strategically at both but push for a long-term home base.
  • Target new sponsorship via Western Sydney business networks.
  • Improve game-day experience (cheap tickets, family zones, fan interaction).

🧠 STEP 5:

  • Invest in sports science, recovery, analytics, and mindset coaching.
  • Players must meet strict fitness, discipline, and off-field standards.
  • Build a winning mentality—reward effort, not just talent.

⏳ Measurable Goals

  • Year 1: Off-field reset, talent pathways realigned, recruitment improved.
  • Year 2: Outside finals but with clear signs of improvement (10–12 wins).
  • Year 3: Play finals footy.
  • Year 5: Become a top-4 club with stable leadership and elite pathways.

❌ No-Go Tactics

  • No ex-players coaching without credentials (nostalgia is killing the club).
  • No panic signings.
  • No blaming the media or fans—take accountability.

TL;DR: Rebuild leadership, define identity, overhaul recruitment, develop juniors, reconnect with fans, and build a culture of elite standards.

He might act that way …but I think the odds of anyone joining the club like tomorrow before the deadline are extremely small

No way, that is gold. We needed Chat GPT instead of Pascoe.

The least number of changes for the least disruption imo. Bring Staines into fullback, he is a premiership winner, not lacking in courage and will take the high ball.

I dont think Benji has the smarts to make a move like that.
Sounds to logical for his pay grade.
Common sense <----- at this club , doesnt exist.
